Once you reach 700 or so whp running on the road under full boost becomes very difficult unless you live in a totally deserted area. The easiest way to tune those cars is at a track where you can focus on the matter at hand without worrying about other cars or the law runing your day.

Anything with a Gt42r on race gas becomes a real handful to just point it down the middle of the road

I learned my lesson today . . . . .

From the words of a multi national tire manufaturer

POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL

My immediate plan of attack is to develop a strategy to manage the power delivery

Its very exciting and frustrating to realize I am going 20 mphs faster than with my Gt35 and yet the same ET - something does not add up

You are making : 989 HP at the rear wheels and 1156 HP at the flywheel.

And your at 615 with a 10.3. Not very accurate in my opinion.

I think the C-16 also makes it illegal to street tune. FWIW...Nice trap though.

He is well above 615rwhp regardless of the ET. You don't trap 156mph in a 3200lb++ car without some serious hp. There is a much better formula that uses 60ft and 1/8th mile data to determine corresponding wheel HP. If Al would post his timeslip I can do the calculation.

Congrats AL !!! I've been following your progress and it's exciting to watch! Now all you need is some vids

Also why go twin wastegates? Any particular reason for that??

Sadly I left my charger for my video camera at home so I have limited video coverage from this weekend - I am going to edit all of that this evening

As for the twin wastegate

Much like our stock evo - the Gt42R is a twin scroll turbine hosuing with divided chambers in the turbine

This offers you a small theortical advantage in spool up due to the seperation of the exhuast pulses

In practice - on a turbo as large as a gt42 the actual effect is limited - I have not testes it in a A - B manner to determine how much the twin scroll set up is helping

Al
