156.92 (mph) reasons why Buschur Racing is the best !
Guys, I am a tuner, but first I am a fellow Evo fanatic and owner (actually my Wife owns the Evo and I own a STI - but I get to drive the Evo)
I work long and hard hours traveling all over the USA to spread the joy of a great running Evo or Subaru with many of you, my fellow car fanatics. Every once in a while I take a weekend off and hit the track to do what I love to do and this weekend was my chance to have some fun.
I entered the Q16 class at the NHRA Race in Englishtown, NJ this weekend
Many following my progress this year will recall that most of the year to date has been spent obtaining my NHRA competition license and getting all the car saftey equipment needed to run the car in the 9's at national events
Anyway, today I hit the track with my new engine which I just installed a few weeks ago (the last one lasted all of last season plus) and at this event my goal was to get the tune dialed in with the new motor and try and break some of my personal best times
The huge problem with a car making over 900 whp is that tuning on a dyno is not very replicative of the track conditions and road tuning is not only illegal its simply irrational
Basically, I go to a drag event, take an easy qualifiying pass and start to make adjustments and raise the boost till its tuned.
At this event, my first qualifying pass, I popped off the fmic pipe when it shifted into 3rd and went a 12.7 @90 plus mph only having boost in 1st and 2nd gear !
The second pass, the car ran 10.5 @ 153 and the tune needed significant adjustment
Third qualifier this morning I missed the 1 - 2 shift badly, bogged and still ran an amazing 10.3 @156.92 !
In the very competative Q16 class I was the qualified with the FASTEST ET

Frankly I was blown away with the MPH
To give an indication of what may be possible when I get this set up dialed in - the quickest and #1 qualifier is in the mid 8's with a lower trap speed!
Sadly, after qualifying with a near ideal 10.3 (within .5 sec break out window of the Q16 pass of my potential ET) - I red lit in the first round by .09 sec !http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007...s/Q16.html#top
I am running ONLY C-16 - no alchy injection no NOS
My car weighs 3280 lbs with my fat self and all the NHRA saftey gear and full cage, etc
The car has a full Buschur Exhaust
I used to run 9's in the mid to high 130's - now I am going nearly 20 mph faster - to me its shocking how much power this car has on the top end
The car pulls 100% clean and no miss fires - it runs like a normal evo only much faster. In fact its faster than a Ninja 1000 I used to ride back in the day - by far.
Here is a list of the Buschur parts I am using at this time :
Buschur Short Block
Buschur race fmic and pipes
Buschur 3.5 " racing exhuast
Buschur mini battery kit
Buschur cop ignition
Buschur upgraded 2 walbros !
Buschur custom wategate pipes
I cant thank Buschur Racing enough for the outcome on my car. Don't ask me why I wanted to have a car this fast, but this is what I wanted and Buschur was able to provide a set up which made it easy to do this.
Thanks also to

I cant wait to head out to the track again and put together a good series of shifts and see what kind of ET this set up will produce !

Anyone else find this statement interesting:
FWIW, I've had him twice road tune my old Evo 8!!
