first step would be to reset battery tighten gas gap about 4 good clicks. Wait one day, if light comes on again, replace gas cap cover. Next step if light comes on after gas cap replacement check evap canister, you have a very small leak on one of lines.

 

cool thanks man, i reset it the battery, and tighten the cap and no light so far so i will another day and see. but where is the evap canister btw?

well my cel light came on, so i guess my next step is to check the canister.

 

Jack the car up and look for clear cracks on the lines from and to the evap unit.

 

shold I have the engine running while i am doing this check or not?

nah..just check for cracks or damaged hose
