4130, 4120, 4340,, you know those are all types of metal! they might have some sort of iron in them! i think you can even weld them! cool huh?
bet none of you knew that!

LOL,, some people really can't take a joke.
too bad, 'cause that one guy's car will be slower because of it!

But seriously, how long until th black drag car makes some passes? is a few more tenths knocked off your old times a realistic expectation?
how about closer to 8 seconds flat than 9?

Wait,, on the other hand, i guess it doesn't matter,, even after you run and break the current record,, ( which your car currently holds) i am sure someone here will tell you you are doing it all wrong and how to go faster..........

Dave, do you ever miss the good old days of DSM's? you know back in the early 90's, long before half the people on this forum had even heard about an evo? i bet you do,, just a little!

I was at the chassis shop today to pick up the black car but there was a small missed detail on the car that is going to hold it up a few more days. When the car comes back it should be a fairly quick process to have it completely ready to hit the track again. We were hoping to have a lot of weight removed from the car but in reality it didn't happen. We ran out of time and frankly...money. It wasn't worth waiting or the further investment to continue with what our plans were. So the car will be back out safer, nicer and a little bit lighter.

While I was there I went over this front brace and the changes that are going to be made. I would hope we will have some to sell within 2 weeks.

We also dropped off another EVO that is much closer to stock than our black drag car so the other two parts can be completed. Those should only take a few days to have the prototypes built.

Any safety issues or is it just a strong as the oem piece. And a another big ? would be would it be able to pass inpection at the track. Im pretty sure you know how big pain in the a$$ it is to pass inpection.

I really think with a little time, rubbing compound and some elbo grease, you can buff that right out!

Gussets on the Motor mount piece would be most deal, as I would think that the rocking back and fourth would eventually crack the welds where they joint. (Even 4340 being really good suff, the severe rocking back and forth would eventually cause anything to break.)

A tow bar, or at leas have it as an "add on option". It would be quite simple, a bent piece of 1/2" dia. rod would probably be sufficient, and only add 4 more roughly 1" long welds.

One last, make it out of anamandium? He he...
Anamandium ??? 4340?????? .120 walled tubing??? Ohhhhhh i know what is going on here, your pretentious. I don't believe DB needs anyone backing him or anything but i will take a note from your book and give you some word of mouth that i will think to spread like wild fire. Your arrogance has lead you to speak out your hopes for specifications that made you sound........a little too demanding. Maybe you should tone it down or people may not take any advice that you give because of your attitude.

You think engineers are pretentious, you should try working with construction contractors.

Alright, we have our black car back from the chassis shop. Now we have a lot of work to do of our own. Hope to get it out to the track next week.

I am being told that I will have the first 6 of these front engine mounts next week. We are also going to implement a tow hook in the design.

I will have 6 completed units on Monday. Pricing is not set yet, I will have something figured out on Monday. The final part we will post new pics of when we get them. They have gussets and a tow hook.

Also, I am told I will have 6 of the next part before Friday of this week, wait until you see this one, it's gonna be sweet.

Not sure if this other part had anything to do with it or not but our black car had its best 60' time ever, 1.42, this last Friday

very nice Dave, i'm probably gonna order one of these things immediately and whatever other engine mounts I have to get to keep the motor from moving, i think just the rear mount. Also I wanna know what this other part is you have coming in AND I might just go ahead and grab a COP from you too.

Here is the finished product for the front engine mount/brace. As you can see in the picture we have added the toe hook and gussets to the part. I have 4 of them I can sell right now. One of the 6 went on my car and the other we are keeping for our display.

The part is painted in semi-gloss black. We were going to powder coat them but did not do the first batch, depending on how fast the next batch is built we may powder coat those.

First come, first serve. I will only sell ONE to a customer, so don't attempt to order two please.

Price is $250.

If you call to order and we are out of stock we will take the order still and just get you on the list for the next batch that are built. We won't charge you until they come in.
