If you have an Evo 8, then it will work with out ACD, but you would need to find a way to control the mivec. If you have an Evo 9, then you need to find a way to bypass the ACD.

The Evo 9's t/f case uses the same housing section (well the part that bolts to the trans) as the Evo 8. MMNA redesigned the outer section to accomedate the ACD system.

Guys, he's trying to attach an EVO9 motor to his EVO8 with 2003 EVO8 5 speed tranny and 2003 TC. Yes they should connect up without any issues. The EVO8 and EVO9 trannies are identical except for gear ratios and since you aren't using/upgrading to an EVO9 tranny the ACD TC doesn't even matter.

The only thing you will need to get are, EVO9 engine wiring harness and EVO9 ECU. ACD lights and switch don't even matter because you will be using the 03 EVO8 tranny and TC sans ACD.

I dont think I would spend the money for a mismatched crate motor.

Find a good deal from a junk yard and call it a day. If you want more have a performance shop build it for you.
