I bought a b16g for my 92 eclipse a couple years ago because I couldnt find a 20g within the time I had to work with. I was great for the first couple months and then I started getting regrets.

With the FP3065 power, how long do you guys think my stock clutch w/about 45k would last on normal driving & occasional roll races, drag strip maybe twice a month? Or should i just go ahead and get a performance clutch when I upgrade turbos instead of wearing out the stocker 1st?

Get a clutch. It won't last long at 3065 power levels unless you totally baby it and I still have doubts, especially with your mileage.

I will be glad to throw some information out there since I was the first to run the 3065 on an Evo. Bottom line.... I love this turbo. Spool isnt bad enough where it would be considered "unstreetable" and it makes good power. My car went 11.04 @ 128mph on C16 and 28psi before on a 100% STOCK block, head, ignition system, intake manifold, etc... on a 92 degree day with a 1.74 60'. All that was done was an Exedy Clutch, Our stages 1-4 and a AEM EMS. HKS 272 cams is what I had in at the time.

As was mentioned the power of the 3065 and 35R are almost identical until 30psi and then the 35R will pull away. Its just more efficient up top. The 3065 just runs out of breathe. I would say the 3065 would be good for 33-34psi max.

My full weight car ran a 10.8 @ 131mph and a 10.9 @ 133mph on 29psi. Turned up the boost a couple more psi but it left the line and broke an axle. I would say its going to be good for a 10.5 or 10.6 pass at 32/33psi on a nice day for racing.

The manifold that we offer is a cast manifold that we manufacture that is designed to work with a DSM flanged turbo. The stock manifold will not support anything other than the stock turbo / 20G-9LT.

If you were going to get any other 30 series turbo other than the 3065 I would recommend just sticking with the 20G-9LT. The 3065 is the only one that would out perform it. The 20G-9LT is a great turbo. It is proven to run in the 10's and consistent low 11's numerous times. Its a FUN turbo. Very little lag, good power and its just a blast to drive around on. I have considered taking the 3065 off and going to the 20G-9LT but once you have big power its hard to go back.

I will shoot you a PM with a quote on what all you are wanting done. I'll see what kind of "package" i can work up for you.

Jarrod - What's the difference between a 3040 and the 3065 besides the obvious, the 3065 has the built in waste gate mount? I always thought the 3040/ 3082 had the same wheels as the 3065, but you can clear that up for us.

The 3040 , 3082, and 3065 are all different names for similar turbos. They all have GT30 turbine wheels with GT40 (61mm inducer/82mm exducer) compressor wheels. The 3040 and 3082 have T3 hotsides on them. The 3065 has a forcedperformance proprietary turbine housing that is flanged for a standard DSM manifold. FP's name of '3065' comes from it's GT30 hotside w/ their custom turbine housing, and its 65 lb/min compressor wheel.

If FP would make a turbine housing that bolted up to the stock evo manifold we would all be very very lucky...especially if it incorporated a true twin-scroll setup!

So Jarrod, 3076 isn't a great place to go according to you? You say green instead? I had the 3065 on a DSM. But, my aspirations aren't as high on the Evo. (Its just my d/d) Stay with the 20g? (I hate 20g's... )

+1 for the power expected on pump gas and a good tune on both.

Most of those mods don't require a significant amount of skill and training to install. If you were motivated enough you could install your fair share and save $$.
