i've been running 28 pounds since december and have stock head studs.... i just ordered a evo green and plan on running 30 pounds and still dont plan on running aftermarket head studs... my .02 dont fix it until theres a problem and i dont foresee having any issues with the evogreen and stock studs.

Cheers!

Running 28psi on a daily driver is less stressfull then running 25psi on a car you track on weekends. I'm talking closed road course, not a 1/4 mile track. It's the sustained boost levels that are reason for concern.

headstuds for high boost. If you are running in the 24 psi range you dont need headstuds. if you are running more or spiking 27+ get the head studs. I do a bunch of head stud installs and I charge 350 for studs valve springs retainers cams new belts etc and i pull the head off of the car because that is truly the only way to do it. So depending on what the future holds for your car is what you have to think about to determine wether or not to spend the 110 bucks or whatever you pay for the studs are. In the long run studs are much stronger than bolts end of story peace out lol

As long as you're doing the cam install you might as well. There is no point in opening the head again in the future.

seems to be luck of the draw if you do it or not. I'm putting in S1's and i ordered head studs. Seems to be the best of luck.

I have looked for threads referencing stretched stock studs or even problems with stock studs and failed to find anything. There are, however, quite a few threads about people who have done the studs incorrectly and had problems.

Translation -- don't do it. It is a waste of money and will probably cause more problems than they solve. If you do decide it is a good idea then pull the head and do it correctly.

well I Stretched my stock bolts. A stud has a ton more clamping force than a bolt.
Totally different. Its not a waste of time and money. and It wont cause more problems than they solve. No offense man. Studs are stronger and more reliable. If you are getting away with high boost on your stock bolts then hey that great. They will give out alot faster than a headstud. Period.
