TB Coolant Bypass Mod - WARNING
I did the coolant bypass mod about 2 months ago. I put vacuum caps on the two coolant lines coming out of the block/head to cap them off and also put small worm clamps to hold these caps on.
DO NOT do this!. Last night one of the caps was shredded by the clamp and left me stranded for two hours. I ended up pulling a hose I was using to shied a vac line to connect the two coolant outlets. Part of this was the clamps fault while I'd say the rubber weakened over time because it's not designed to deal with coolant.
Can anyone recommend a permanent foolproof way of block off these two lines/nipples? I'm thinking a hose connecting the two is probably the best way but I'm wondering if I can get any sort of braided line with 2 connectors that will never come off...

wait, what? I've done this on a few other cars and I just run the two lines (going to and fro the TB) into each other. and cap the TB coolant nipples just to keep crap out of them.
you blocked off the lines? or did I read it wrong?

That's what I was thinking after this happened... if you connect them with a hose pressure shouldn't build up like it does just capping them off. I would really like to find a braided hose w/connectors so there is no chance of the hose ever busting/leaking.

i used the longer hose to run the water back within the engine & the shorter hose from 1 end of the tb to the other hose end on the tb to keep the dust out.
this way, you dont buy anthing.
besides, a vacuum cap is made for vacuum, not 180f water temp + 15psi pressure

This is NOT the two hard lines coming off the TB. It's safe to cap these off.
The only reason I posted this is so somebody doesn't end up making the same mistake I did AND to hopefully find a way to use a braided line so I never have to worry again
