Paid $1700 here too. You pay 995, you're getting a rebuilt unit, not new. Also, you will be waiting for quite some time for a rebuilt unit. Couldn't afford the downtime as well so bought it new and I'll sell my stock turbo for $500 so in essence, $1200 if you want it new.

?,
um, the 1700 is a rebuilt one!

You will also be waiting for a new one...

So I mean, i rather pay $965 compared to 1200$ any day.

All it takes to get bumped to the front of the list is a couple of hundred dollars for the expedited service.

$1700 is not rebuilt. They use a brand new mitsubishi IX turbo and machine it for the larger wheels. Call FP yourself. The 995 core deal is built using core units that are sent in.

haha, thats funny **** right there.

Yes, I understand that the turbo the 1700$ one is a "new one" new exhaust side/compressor side, fitted "rebuilt" to use the 20g cartridge.

The trade in one is a "used" housing, with a "new cartridge. Of course this "used" housing will have to be cleaned and fitted for the 20g cartridge, hence basically, its "NEW".

Now if you wanted to spend $200+ for new "never used" exhaust/compressor housing so be it.

What your telling me is if you blow you engine, you going to pull it out, junk it and buy a whole new long block from mitsubishi.

Don't hate cuz you spent extra money.

Who's hating? I have no problems with the money I spent. I also had my turbo within 3 days of ordering because it was a new unit on the shelf. I didn't buy it simply because it was "NEW" in the first place. If I could have bought a rebuilt unit and had no downtime with the car, and had it to me in 3 days, I would have in a heartbeat. We all know this is not the case with the trade in deals. I bought mine new out of convenience.

I did some quick calculations and for the cost of injects and evo green you get roughly 75whp for 1700.

that around 22$ per hp,

Then i was looking at this magazine (import) where they said something like an integra sleeper for 6500$.

All kind of mods, but mainly the power mods were i,e,h and it was totalling 6500 where it gained 30HP

that was something like 216$ per hp.

now granted on a dc2 integra you could go a different route and have more power with under 6500, but it was just the point..

evo green ftmfw

I think it is worth every penny. Street Dominator/autox butt kicker/out of the corners faster then the bigger turbos. My kind of combination.
