squeaky belt?

My belt on my 05 evo mr just started squeaking out of no where. It sounds like a bird chirping mostly under 2000 rpm. If im higher then 2,000 rpm it wont squeak. Also if i spray water on the belt the squeaking goes away for about 10 min then comes back.

My evo only has 24,000 miles on it can the belt be bad already? Is thier anything i can buy to stop the squeaking? i checked to make sure the belt was tight and it was. Also the belt doesnt looked glazed over.

thanks!

What belt are you talking about? Is it the accessory/serpentine belt?

you might need a new one if it is squeaky...... do you live in a hot/dry climate?

The serpentine belt is the one that is squeaking. I live in jersey it can get hot and dry here sometimes i guess. I thought it would take at least 40,000 for the belt to go bad not 24,000

well, its a rubber part, and its a wear and tear part.... it shouldnt bee too expensive to replace it with an OEM one or to upgrade to a Power Enterprise/aftermarket unit

Mine only does it when it revs up. I'm not sure if its the serpentine belt or tensioner. I'm going to assume with 33k miles it's not timing and it shouldn't of been touched.
