Evo X Engine Bay Squeak? Video Inside
Hi Guys,
So let me preface my post by saying the car has 65k miles and had the original serpentine belt when I first heard the squeak. After reading through the forums and knowing the belt was overdue for being changed, I purchased the Kaizen Tuning Belt and Pulley kit and had it installed. I thought the squeak had gone away after having the kit installed. However, yesterday after driving for about 10 minutes, the sound returned. Does anyone else know what this could be? The sound is driving me crazy!
Thanks in advance!
Nick

Thanks for the input. If it does happen to be the water pump, is there a big difference between the Gates and OEM one? Other than the $200 price difference?

I've learned never to cheap out on a water pump but, since it's driven by the serp belt and isn't too hard to replace, you are probably safe with the Gates part. It may not last as long but you won't lose an engine if it fails (and you don't keep driving without it functioning).
