Worthy gains in ported/coated stock manifolds?

Hey guys, I have a IX here with straight bolt-on's...

I was looking at Buschur's exhaust manifold port/coating service and I was wondering if the gains are worth spending $200 dollars for. Should I get it done or spend the money elsewhere? Thanks.

You can definitely notice the gains out of a properly ported system and the purpose of the coating is to retain heat which helps with turbo spool and intake temperatures, but for $200 it's a bit on the expensive side, especially considering the fact that Buschur uses a ceramic coating opposed to something like Swaintec's more efficient coating.

It's worth it from my experience.

It's a good mod to do, but you can get the same thing porting it yourself and wrapping it for way less money. I've go some pics of how my porting came out if you're interested.

Yes but wrapping is not nearly as efficient as coating and it tends to trap water and salt leading to faster corrosion.

Actually coating a FMIC makes the core less efficient in terms of heat dissapation

Heat wrap traps moisture which leads to accellerated oxidation, rust and corrosion. It's also not as efficient as a good ceramic coating when it comes to trapping heat.

Not when it's SwainTech that's doing it with their heat-emitting coating

Waste of money on stock turbo. $$$ better spent on alchy injection.

Absolutely not. Call me crazy but a lot of people find it easier to port their manifolds rather than adding alchy injection.
