Sounds like you've made up your mind with the 42R. Good luck with it. Great turbo for peak power. For anyone else that doesnt want to step up to the 42R. A PT-67RLH with a larger A/R turbine with a Full-Race or any properly designed divided exhaust manifold will produce a good powerband with great top end as well

to build a 42R what are the major things needed?

regardless if i go 42R/37R or stay with 35R ill be getting

1.AMS 2.0 or 2.3
2.race head
3.dual FR vsr intake mani
4.1000hp fuel system
5.jun cams instead of my hks.
6.ignition
7.tranny/tcase/better clutch and new axles and possibly driveshaft
8.ams race fmic

will the things above yield me a fine 42r set up??i already have the EMS for it.

basically pretty much when chris from florida went from 35R to 42R what did he change in his setup?i know he went to a dogbox tranny.

oh and whats the main difference in ams kit vs buschur??for $4700 from buschur that is a steal.

thanks
And a couple people had mentioned the PT-67R (GT37R as some call it)

I would stick to the stock crank Ive heard of oiling issues with the k1 crank when you spin them high.

well ive talked to jrod at buschur..he says im gonna need 1600cc inj and only 4 of them with a single fuel rail.

so basically just waiting to sell my current set up and then go 42r and slowly build from there..

sorry im a regular guy in the army and dont have 40k to just call ams/buschur and say make me 900hp...so its gonna be a while from now..

it will most likely be a car similar to chris' 42R evo in florida...simple looking and streetable.it of course will not be my DD b/c gas and driveability will not be the best.

but i will keep you guys updating.thanks for all the input.

yeah im gonna keep it as street legal possible as i can..im not gonna go for the whole 1 seat, not interior dash etc look..kinda go for the set up like chris from florida(not engine set up,but the way he had the car..)

i will become a track car someday, but basically just be my car to take to tracks here and there and run on the weekends etc..

then maybe go for the whole parachute and no interior

like someone said before you will get kicked out of any track you go to without a decent cage. i dont know drag racing but you may even need a NHRA liscense but i might be really wrong.

Some tracks you do. Some tracks you dont. 9.99 seconds, 1/4 mile, or 6.40 1/8 mile, or 135mph you need to apply for an NHRA competition license BEFORE you can begin racing at NHRA member tracks

Compare the components in the AMS and Buschur kit and you will see where the difference in price comes from.

Other then that your mod list is pretty good.

I can add our mini radiator kit, motor mount and air intake to the price as well. That would add another $830 to the price of the kit. Coating for the header is an additional $149.

Our kit is still proven to run 8's as well.
