Camshafts On E9

Need some advice on installing non-mivec camset on E9.

Can the camset be directly fitted onto the Mivec head & in the
process disabling Mivec or gota change to a non-mivec head?

Advices very much appreciated.

Thanx!
Victor

No, you have to use a IX intake cam, because of the design, but you can use any VIII exhaust cam.

Only a VIII exhaust cam may be used on the IX head due to the Mivec. What cams were you looking to install?

thanx 4 the reply. was looking at installing the non-mivec Jun272 (10.8) camset.

some said the non mivec camset(intake/exhaust cams, vs & retainers) can be fitted onto a mivec cylinder head, but with some mods & sacrificing mivec though.

hmm...can someone confirm this??

thanx

As far as I know you can't swap heads either. The IX bottom end has extra cooling mechanisms that correspond to the mivec head along with extra oil feed lines that are not on the VIII so you would have to probably do a complete motor swap. That might be a bit of an overkill for just a set of cams, especially considering you can probably call cosworth and have them custom make you a set of cams for fraction of the price that correspond to the Juns.
