Yeah that would be great and it would be interesting to get some details on the new turbos out there from Precision and then the FP Red and such.

Just let me know what is incorrect and I can change it. Sorry if I was putting up incorrect stuff. Was trying my best.

I believe the Turbonetics equivalent to the T04Z is actually their T66

There was a time when it was a very popular turbo, even mentioned in the Fast and Furious, not sure why Evo's don't use them...

I have a Turbonetics Super 60 Trim Ceramic ball bearing on GM 2L 16V pre-Ecotec 4 banger and I love it... awsome powerband...

IHI does make a twin ball bearing but doesnt allow you purchase parts and most of there new turbos are designed for the subaru's and for diesel applications and you can not get housing to use in the EVO application!
www.ihi-turbo.com

The Garrett turbochargers are the only Twin ball bearing on the market that you can get different housing on to allow then to use the after market manifold!
www.turbobygarrett.com

Borg Warner (airwerks) is now getting into the market as it comes to T3/T4 market. They were mainly Diesel turbo manufactures and after purchasing KKK they started airwerks about 2-3 years ago and do offer the S300 and S400 in a T4 turbine housings, but do not offer anything ball bearing!
www.turbodriven.com

Turbonetics does offer a ball bearing but it is a single ball bearing and uses a journal bearing on the Turbine side! They also offer different turbochargers in both T3/T4 for these applications but there pricing is usually more than garrett!
They how ever do offer if purchased from one of there distributors a 1 year no questions asked warranty do matter what!
www.turboneticsinc.com

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. or MHI is the only one that offers stock or replacement turbochargers for these vehicles but do not offer any upgrades. Some Turbo shops have created other turbos using the EVO 8 and EVO 9 turbochargers with different wheel combinations for the bolt on purposes!

I hope this help with some information!

A question I have:

I hear people talking about stage3 and stage 5 turbine wheels for Garrett turbos. What do these actually represent?

the Stage 3 turbine wheel is 2.227" Minor and 2.555" Major!
the Stage 5 turbine wheel is 2.437" Minor and 2.795" Major!

the Stage 5 is noticable larger than the stage 3 and it also can support more HP!
you will have a bit more lag in the low end but it will have more top end HP!

just my $.02

to add to this -- the stage 3 turbine wheel (AKA 'T31') has 11 blades! the stage 5 turbine wheel (AKA 'T350') has 10 blades with good aero! The GT 10 blade turbine wheels poop on both of these!

the t66 is similar but not the same... the T66's were cool turbos in 1996 (which is probably the reason the fast and furious talked about them), although by today's standards they are both pretty lame

The Garrett T04Z uses a 63 trim 66.7mm inducer / 84mm exducer Compressor wheel and 11 blade p trim turbine wheel (sort of like a giant stage 3). These are not as efficient as true GT turbochargers. However the big upside of this turbo is it's a good turbine to compressor match, and it can be used in a variety of housings and configurations (the flexibility is the only thing i really like about this turbo). T3 single scroll, T4 single scroll, T4 twinscroll, whatever you want its easy to do.

The Turbonetics has a much larger compressor wheel, with a 91mm exducer, despite it having the same 66mm inducer size. It can come with a variety of turbine wheels (p trim or q trim), and a variety of housings. it also has a killer warranty, thats the stuff i love about them -- you can try a ton of different custom combinations that are next to impossible to do with other mfg's and they will take care of you when you have a problem.

btw if you like think your super 60 is responsive on your ecotec, you should try a t3 external gate GT28RS!

I tried editing it, but that "code" feature on this forum i have no idea how to use it and got frustrated so i gave up. if you want to really do this right, ill be happy to help get a real spreadsheet together. let me know if you can help get it all organized, i dont have too much time
