ob4,

Hahaha... that's a brilliant idea..... except that I was thinking
about mounting closer to the steering wheel column.... but I think
what you did is a lot easier...

Also, I guess you would have to put the rubber plug back in
place after you finish the wiring to prevent heat/moisture coming
through to the cabin from engine bay?

Thanks again.

JT_KGY,

I have make a small hole on the plug and run the boost gauge air tube through it. Hopefully it will keep moisture out.

?? That was what I think I will put the LCD display...
what dont you like about that position??
(Right above the column and right below the tech)

I like ob4's idea.... but wouldn't the steering wheel block
the LCD display??

the_evo_wins, thx!

JT_KGY, initially i was going to put the display unit on top of the steering column, but i found that the plastic cover on the steering column is not very flat and will make mounting the display a bit difficult. also due my sitting position (i like it very up right), i found that i can't read the boost very well if i put the display unit on the steering column. as for the air vent, it is very readable (at least for my sitting position), as long as i do not position the display unit too far to left on the air vent. also, the display is higher so I don't have to look down to read the boost info.

Thanks for the great pictures, ob4. I installed my Blitz DTT on Tuesday. Your pictures of the firewall plug made my install very straight foreword. I had to contort my arms in strange and painful ways, but it turned out to be a very clean install.

I use 100 octane race gas to mix a 94 octane blend and my highest reading on the boost gauge has been 1.37. I think that works out to 19.8psi. Seems high to me.

This TT rocks. It’ll be nice not having to wait a minute or two before getting out of my EVO from now on.

frogstaple, i am glad that you find my pic usefull. Btw, I am also seeing my boost peak at around 1.37 to 1.39 and I am only running crappy 91 oct CA gas. But I do have a downpipe and exhaust....

Oh, for the record, I used the Blitz harness. It was truly plug and play.

I'm also interested in the blitz TT.

Ob4, thanks for the excellent install pictures. Love the placement of the display!

I have a question though, does the "blitz" specfic harness require any type of splicing of wires? Also...where does the harness exactly plug into? Is it the open connector in the driver side foot well area?

Other than the fact that it reads hkpa, which i can learn to live with. I think its great.

Its just the harness connection I'm curious about.

I'm also assuming a 95-99 mitsu eclipse harness is the one I should be looking for from either blitz or hks...is this correct?

Thanks!

No splicing the ignition with the Blitz... unplug the ignition harness on the bottom left of the steering column where it meets the dash (under panel)... plug the harness between the two unplugged connectors... plug in your TT to the harness... tap the emergency brake switch with the supplied tap connector. You’re operational... Mounting the TT is a matter of your preference. It really is that easy...
