It will throw one if you remove the cat and go with the straight pipe, unless you get a harness to stop the light. Perrin I beleive sells a straight pipe that includes such a harness. I think you can get it from vividracing.

Has anyone put in the ultimate racing test pipe? and if so does it really not trip the cel light. Also what did they use a solder in type solution or a screw in type solution? Anyone?

I have the Ultimate Racing test pipe and it does not trip the CEL. I cannot tell you how they do it but believe me it does not give a CEL. It's a great deal at $93. Other test pipes that gaurantee no CEL cost way more as they come with some kind of electronic device that fools the ECU.

Ultimate has a fix for the CEL and they dont use anything to fool the o2 sensor. As Option2 said, we can't tell you exactly how, but we can tell you that it DOES work.

takin off the second cat wont throw a CEL its imposible because the o2 sensor is BEFORE the cat there are no more sensors down streem you only need the CEL fix if you get a header or gut your header

There is no second cat on the EVO VIII. There is only one and it is located between the downpipe and the mid-pipe. There are 2 O2 sensors on the car. The first one is located in the turbo elbow. The second O2 is located in the mid pipe of the exahaust. So......if you remove the cat, you will definately get a cat inefficiency error.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Gut your header" There is nothing in the header to gut. Getting an equal length header or any header for that matter will not produce a CEL either.
