Boost leak on throttle body - how to fix?

I finally built a pressurizing kit and tested my car for leaks. A few months ago, my stock 06 EVO started to drop to 15 psi right after the initial boost peak (within 1 sec). It did not taper like it used to.

I traced the leak to the throttle body, out the throttle control shaft. It is the thing that the the throttle cable attaches to. The shaft has a spring around it on the outside so it is hard to see and feel, but that is where all the hissing is coming from, even at 1-2psi. The hissing tone changes when I try to wiggle the throttle linkage, so I'm pretty sure it is leaking there.

Does anyone know if the shaft seals from Works (http://www.worksevo.com/store/produc...roducts_id=415) are for this throttle control shaft or some other shaft?

Thanks.

Yep, those are the seals you need. It's a habitual problem and it happened to me. It was one of the first things I had to do to my evo after I bought it used. Here's a write on the job...https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=220264

Oh nice! Great write-up! I was wondering how hard of a job it was. How long does it take?

Well, I did it about a year ago, so I can't remember exactly. Maybe an hour. The most important thing is to make sure you have a pair of those spring clip pliers. It explains in detail in that write-up. It's a little bit of a pain getting the old seals pushed out. Other than that, the job is a breeze. Good luck

if you dont have a means to measure your tps voltage, just paint pen that tps (so you can see where it lived before you took it apart) so you can out it back to where it relatively was before you tore it apart.

I got the job done - no more leak It was quite straight forward. Hardest part was getting the old seals out. The job took about 1-1.5 hours for us but I was doing more talking with my buddy than working

Thanks for all the tips folks! Much appreciated.
