Major Boost leak

Im having some serious problems. I believe I have a boost leak. Everything still seems to be tight. When Im driving sounds like air is just pouring out and Im not sure where it's coming from but I can't go past 5-8lbs of boost. Need some ideas of what to do.

-I was running bout 20-22 punds on stock pipes
-Is my turbo xs mbc bad?
-upgrade pipes?
-Someone told me my MAF could be bad also

Any advice would help.

How do you do a boost leak test? How would I know if the boost controller is going bad or is ****ty? Any common places for it to leak?

by pass the boost controler with a union, and see what boost you get off of wastgate pressure......

by pass the boost cont with a union, and see what boost you get off of wastgate pressure......and you said you hear air pouring out so i doubt it's your boost cont. check the upper intercooler pipe that goes to the throttle body take it off and look for holes that would be the best place to start.....and i doubt it's you mass air

no pressure on mass air side...also if you're using a mbc/ebc your MAF readings will not affect your boost..because it cannot tell your ecu you have a problem and cut boost.

Boostleak test = search

Not even being able to go past 5-8 psi tells me there is something seriously leaking. You shouldn't even need to do a boost leak test as I'm sure it will drop just as quick as you pump it in. Just check every line that has something to do with boost. Start with the exhaust and make sure everything it tightened and not leaking prior to the turbo. After that, you can check the cold side components. This should be a very easy fix, as you're dropping a lot of boost. Also, make sure everything is installed correctly. The MBC and your BOV. The BOV could be leaking something aweful.

OK. well the manual boost controller was installed when I bought the vehicle and I haven't touched it cause I'm use to the ebc I had in my last WRX. The BOV I can check though cause I have removed that before.

when you pressurize the system you can hear exactly where it's leaking from...it's probably an easy and obvious fix or it could be in a hard to see location....
