...minimal increase as far as the annoying PPSSSSSHT sound and doesn't draw too much hot air from the engine cause the cutout is on the opposite side.

Colder air is perhaps even MORE benefical for a turbo car.

The equation for a compressor is: shaft work (power) = compressor inlet temp * mass flow rate * constant specific heat * (pressure ratio)^((k-1)/k)

So, for a given shaft work/power/power coming for the turbine wheel, if you lower the compressor air inlet temp, then you get higher mass flow rate and/or higher pressure ratio (more boost).

Basically, colder air into the turbo, you'll get faster spool and more power.
