arp main stud torque specs

Torque in three equal stages also. I can't imagine it makes any functional difference, but it might and ARP has been doing this a lot longer than I have.

slightly off topic. anyone have an idea of how many times you can re-tq ARP mains?

built moto spun a rod bearing, should i just get new ones or what

Do you know the size of the studs prior to torqueing? They only need to be replaced if they stretch.

Exactly that, ARP says .001 inch of stretch means a bolt/ stud has seen it's breaking point and will fail shortly. With how tightly they hold their tolerances, it would not surprise me if they might be able to give you a max length by calling them.

make sure you guys use the arp assembly lube, the torque values will not be correct without it

I'd rather use the stretch method. I will torque all my engine studs and bolts using dial gauges. Tools are expensive, thou.

Here is the PDF on the studs. It looks like it is 80ft/lbs in 3 equal sequences.. Sorry for any trouble this may have caused. I found out my spec from calling AMS that I gave here before.

For anyone finding this via search as I did, both the ARP website as well as AMS, the torque spec is three steps to 60 foot-pounds.
