Which is interesting, although not by accident, and AFAIK lies squarely in line with HKS' thinking with their other turbos.

Speaking of that T04Z 76 trim turbine, I selected a hotside for my TS T04Z BB unit today. I'm a bit apprehensive, but we'll see what happens.

100% all day long i prefer the 4088R (the non ball bearing 4088 sucks). The 4094 is just a miniature (and less efficient) 42R, just designed to make more power than the 4088R, but be the same size. The 4088R has such great response and low end manners, its the most fun "big" turbo ive ever used, and at only 63.5mm its really not that big

cool! im excited, what'd you get?!? its always interesting to see how a 4G63 behaves, since they seem to like the smaller housings with the 11 blade p trim turbine wheel

that would be a pretty fast time attack car

Ok, so now you have me back to thinking between the 35R and 4088R

I believe the first one we're going to try is a 1.15. We'll see where that gets us and how the car feels.

What size turbine housing should be used with the dbb 4088 to get the best low end response without losing top end on a 2.4? Divided .96 A/R or larger?

The answer is a bit more complicated than the question. The type of fuel, boost pressure, and power ultimately determine the best compromise with respect to turbine housings.

The answer is a bit more complicated than the question. The type of fuel, boost pressure, and power ultimately determine the best compromise with respect to turbine housings.
O.K., if I really have to be specific on setup to get an answer, here goes...

I have a 95 gsx with a newly built 2.4 engine (bored .20 over, Crower rods, Wiseco pistons 9:1 compression, ARP everything, balanced and blueprinted, no bshafts or oil squirters, dowel pinned mains, assembled with torque plate..etc) FP3 cams, dual valve springs, ported head, Walbro 255hp pump, -6AN lines, 880cc injectors, Megan FPR, Magnus SMIM, shep tranny, sbr4000 clutch, and on..and on.... Boost pressure is not an issue...my motor can handle it.

I know i'm probably gonna have to upgrade to at least 1000cc injectors and another in-line pump, but I'm hoping for 500whp on pump gas and 700 on race fuel. The SCM6176 turbo and ported 2g mani I'm using now are decent, but the Mitsu exhaust mani and tubine housing are very restrictive. I've been considering upgrading to a DNP divided manifold and a t67 dbb .63 T3 (37r) turbo, but after reading this im considering a divided T4 t67 or 4088 (too bad it's $500 more than the t4 t67) but I'm not sure which A/R to use for the divided hotside to minimize spool time without loosing too much peak power.

It would be good to see some dynos of 4088 TS. The only dyno I've seen on a
4G63 a open scroll 4088 put down 630whp on Buschurs dyno. Which is 20-30whp less than his 37R kits have put down.

Evodan2004 hasn't made it to the dyno, but his TS 3076R with small hotside just went 11.2@126 mph on 93 octane with a splash of 100 at 26/27 psi.

Not too shabby, especially considering the fact that this setup is geared more so toward good street manners than peak power.
