Bought it from BSM Sport here in Australia, it was imported NEW from Japan, I believe there is another one on offer.
They don't become available to often.

No, the WRC turbo is a small IHI unit that costs a ridiculous amount of money, and this is definitely not it.

There's some more info in the evolutionoz forum on this turbo, you will need to sign up to view it.

Lancershop: Part # 49378-01571 You can also read the part # on the turbo in the picture they have... it has 71 at the end, which is the updated version.

Cheers.

How much boost is safe on a 70 series or the new 71 series? I'm not looking to run much more boost than stock since I'll be running on 93 pump.

BTW would a compressor map for a 71 series be different from a stock 9 turbo and would it be more or less efficient? Could someone post a stock 9 map if they have 1 on hand?

Quick question, the part number 49378-01571 shown in lancershop.com describes the turbo as a Mag wheel...i though the updated version has an aluminum wheel?

The 71 series evo9 turbo is a revised Mag wheel turbo, mitsi did something to the wheel to make it a bit stronger.

We were just sent 3 assploded 1571 turbos from Singapore. Does not appear that the changes to the compressor wheel and CHRA were sufficient to resist wheel failure when the boost is turned up. You want to stay away from the mag wheel if you plan on running more than 18psi of boost pressure, otherwise the lifespan is very short and unpredictable.

We had 20 of the 1571 on order for more than 18 months. By the time they finally arrived from Japan the European guys had been running them for a while, and we knew that the fix wasnt a fix. So since they were well over a year late we were able to refuse them. Some other MHI dealers took them and they made their way onto lancershop.com and other places.
