Po300 Finally Fixed For Me!!!

I'm just happy to report that am now 100% free from that annoying PO300 Code - Random Multiple Misfire Code, that some of us have on our Evo's.

The Symptoms - For Over 2 years now every time I got on the X-Press way or simply cruised at around 3,200rpm's - 4,000 rpm's around 70-80 mph. I could feel an actual studder in the engine, and My "Check Engine Light" would come up. When I checked the code I would get the PO300 code. And it would happen quite often I would say about once every minute in the worst case scenario when cruising at this speed.

Note: If I raced the car by getting on it hard or simply day to day driving with stop and go traffic I never got this code. I also want to note that I started receiving this code after changing to a more aggressive Clutch.

The Fix: As silly as it sounds, I know it's been reported before but the CReader from Ebay. A Link of the item is here.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cread...em120162409369

It costs $32.45 with shipping.

Reason for Fix: I know there has been a debate whether this CReader actually fixes the problem or ignores an actual problem with the engine. I would like to put to rest this question at least on my car and experience. It appears that my engine sensor was picking up a louder type of harmonic sound in the drive train, and this specific rpm and mph speed confused the ECU into thinking there was an actual problem thus pulling back timing and temporary pausing the engine's Firing sequence. The only temporary solution was to ease off the Gas Pedal and get back on it again to restart the 4G63's clockwork ignition.

Important: Please note that this unit does not have any buttons and is more of an automated system. It seems it receives the code before being reported to the ECU and then automatically clears it. I never get a check engine light and since the ECU never receives the problem, it doesn't cause the engine to studder anymore or pull the timing.

I know some of you have bought CReader's that simply read the code and give you the control to delete it. I cannot vouch for those units to be effective in solving the problem as I have read reports those still produce the code and also cause the engine to studder.

I hope I clarified all the questions regarding this FIX.. I've already bought 2 one for me and another for a friend. Good Luck.. If they all sell out write to the guy I'm sure he can put more up for sale, he has a great feedback Score.

Peace.

I purchased this last week, just for pulling codes. I don't have the same symtoms as some others, just wanted this as a tool to pull codes when needed. I'm glad to hear this has been working for you and others, gives me a "Good Purchase" feeling.

Same problem - same fix. I posted everything you report in this same forum about a year ago and all I got was reply s saying I was nuts. In the mean time I continue to make long distance interstate trips that are code free.

I originally learned of the Creader and what it could do by reading a vendor site. This outfit was selling a mod that would cause ECU codes. So, they said the buyer would need a Creader to prevent the codes. Otherwise their product couldn't be used. So, I got to thinking about my P0300 problem. Bingo.

Good post!

I used the Autozone one-Fixed the same problem in their parking lot. Might have to check out the ebay one to get my own!

Well the Creader just erases the codes right? A lot of people leave them plugged in too which really isnt a fix, just a sweep under the rug.

you're not fixing it, just working around it.

^ guys i think it actually does fix the problem. cuz the problem is not in the engine. from what i understand from the 1st post is that basically the P0300 code is a fake. the engine does studder but the clutch is causing it. so everytime the sensor catches that noise/vibration again it tells the ecu to stop the cylinders?

ques. for the op: does the creader deletes all the codes. say if i had a overboost condition code or some other code, will the creader delete that immediately without letting u know about it?

So what is the fix? The reflash doesn't fit it. I could take Mitsu to court and try to get them to take the car back - LOL. I can pull my transmission that doesn't grind in any gear and send it to Shep. Or, I can run a Creader. It is not a hard choice.

I just got my creader for my p0300 code. I had a manual creader that I got around half a year ago to clear the codes.(thought I bought the right one, but I was wrong).

So I bought a slightly used auto-style creader off of ebay for a whopping 12.50 shipped. So far it works great. I don't get the code as much, however it still pops up occasionally. Then I have to lift the throttle, but the creader clears it within seconds. definitely worth the 12.50
