blown front diff ! !
after a complete tear down it was found to have a exploded front diff .. the cause being the motor mounts are to "compliant" alowing the motor to "shift" in the bay causing the right side axle to come apart , thus placing an huge load on the front diff, causing it to "self destruct". I dissasembled the tranny just to make sure everything was ok & it looks fine. here are some pictures ..enjoy !

We've been road racing the evos around here making about 325 awhp and so far everything has been fine. Bigger turbo and intercooler should put us around 400awhp, and avoiding driveline issues is worth keeping the power down and working on lightening the car and putting more money into tires and track time.

Great pics! Thanks! I wish I had a center diff drive gear that was 2" wide.
Do you have a picture of the axle that came apart? Did it pop out of the transmission? Did the CV joint come apart? Or did the axle just shear?

the axle did not brake.. it simpley tried to make up the distance, that was increased by the motor moving foward and to the left.. the inner joint was the one that came apart ! ! !

that hurts me
