Project 2.3 + 50trim Finished!

Well a couple of months ago (to be exact 7/7/07) my engine blew up because 3 valves on the head broke and you can imagine the mess they made. Well, took some time and some money *a lot* but finally the project its finished. The engine is now on break-in but after its finish I will hit up the dyno.

The new engine mods:
New stock head with: BC springs and Ti retainers, Ferrea SS Valves (stock size) and HKS 272 cams with Skunk2 lightweight cam gears.
Fixed block with: Custom CP pistons, eagle rods, 2.4 crank, fully balanced, ACL bearings, etc etc etc.
Turbo: Brand new 50trim turbo from Turbonetics, the old one blew up when the engine did, so Turbonetics hooked me up with a brand new turbo, with some custom specs by them.
Clutch: New ACT 6 puck sprung with HD plate.

I will post pictures of the new setup and powder coating on ic pipes, intake and valve cover, and the ceramic coating on the manifold and o2 housing. Installed also new exhaust to keep the tone down, Injen new Catback with Ti Finished Tip.

200 miles of break in so far, I will keep you all informed.

i am sure that extra 0.3ltrs are gonna spin the 50trim like a stock 2.0 spins the 16g

I already had a 50trim kit with my 2.0 so I kept the same setup in order to save some money, this thing was not cheap. The car had so many components damaged I had to buy most of the engine, thank God I found awesome prices, but still was not going to spend more. Maybe later on, I'll talk to Turbotrix and Turbonetics and change the 50tirm for a 30R turbo. We'll see.

Don't do a 30r. Do a 35r instead. 30r with a 2.3 ltr is ok, but just ok. Do a 35r.

I will be running 93 octane for now, waiting for Access Port so I can change maps, and do a C16 map.

I will post up pictures this weekend!

Subscribed. Curious to hear how soon that turbo is making full boost on the stroker motor once you finish break in.

Thanks,

Dave
