how is this possible...?

im trying to figure out how my buddy has an evo ix spiking to 30psi and falling to 26-27psi on 93 octane. here is the good part, this is with stock injectors and a 35r .63 turbine. it is running on a reflash with 100% duty cycles. he did just buy a set of 880's but are not installed yet. we did a hwy pull vs. my fd rx-7 and he was at my rear bumper from 50-140mph. i trap 122mph in the 1/4 so im guessing he is around 120-121mph. so that gives you a figure on how fast it is. i see many 22psi 30r/35r doing these speeds. i believe his tuner is pulling timing but why not just run less boost? btw whats a guess on his whp?

I would Guess close to 400 whp I was trapping at 116-118 and 373whp.

The 35r comes alive at high boost and race gas especially. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe many of the smaller turbos(50 trim, 58trim, 30R) out perform the 35R at lower boost.

a 35r at 30psi should be very close to 600whp. I'm guessing this car is running lean with very little timing.

Sounds like he needs a new tuner. A GT35R should trap well over 122 that you are running at 30psi. Doing that on 93 octane is just dumb though.....asking for problems for sure.

I understand it can be done for sure, but I'm not to comfortable running big boost on pump gas. I have had to many instances with pump gas being different from station to station. I have helped a few DSM friends of mine load their cars on roll backs due to this. Not all 93's are created equal, so I just like to play it a little safer sometimes. But that is all up to the owner I guess.

yea he needs to get a better tune. at 22-24psi he could have a ton of power and be more safe. btw his fpr is stock so no raise there. trying to get him to go to pruven.

Come on down. We can take care of the tune.

He was not at 30psi, it was 26psi "falling to 26-27psi". These turbos make power near redline at 30+psi

If he was trapping 121-122mph with a 35r on pump 93, I'd say that's about right where I'd expect him to be. As was said, his tuner may have tuned for higher boost with much less timing than normal... Probably closer to 420whp on a DJ, which I've seen before with GT35r's on pump...

he changed the wg to atmo dump and it gained a decent amount of top end. also the boost no longer spikes. it holds 26 psi constant.

here is some footage against a 510whp cobra, these were the best runs. dont know if this is against forum rules. its just a youtube vid though. btw on the last run 3rd gear went out the window...
