Head Problem Please Help!!!!!!!

After my head was decked my spark plug in cylinder #1 keep getting crushed after I take past 15psi or accell thru a sharp turn. I checked the plug and around the electrode I notes that there were a lot of small chips. I then re-gapped the plug to .26 and the car runs smooth. I also ran a compression test and it came out to 176- 180psi on the 4 cylinders. Do you think that there might be some shaving or derbies in the #1 cylinder or do I need a new head, or thicker head gasket.

Thanks in advance.

I need to know a few things.

How much did the machine shop take off the head?

Has it ever been milled before?

Do you have any pics of the plug?

What is your A/F ratio?

1.I belive it was .008
2.First time it was milled
3. I will post pics tonight after work
4. I dont know the A/F ration but i can tell you than my car was tuned for meth by Iveytune but iam not spraying yet because the head was just putt back on with new valves OEM. I was told to brake the head in about 1,500 miles.

Well with only .008 removed there is no way that the piston is hitting the spark plug, unless the top of the piston was damaged.

Why did you have the head milled?

According to the hacks that worked on my car they said that the car skipped a tooth while i was test driving the car after they changed my clutch and cylinder 1 detonated. Iam so stresst out from this because I just want my car to run normal again. Do you think the compression is to high.

Your compression is up there but I don't think that is the issue. Is your plug gap changing when you go around those sharp corners? Also does it look like anything is hitting the electrode on your spark plug? The reason being that when you just timing you might have messed up the top of your piston and there may be a large chunk of aluminum that may have balled up on top of the piston and that could be causing this. I need to see your plug so I can tell if its detonation or piston clearance. If Sean tuned your car, im sure its not the tune.

I check the plug when ever my car starts to bog and I have to end up re gapping it then it starts to run smooth. On the electode it self there are sharp cuts like something is slashing it not crushing it. I took pics of the piston and I also see very small nicks that are not on the other piston heads, but I think that was caused by the detonation that caused everthing. I know it was not the tune Ivey is da man. Iam going to insert a Magnet tonight to see if i pick up anthing. Is there anything else I should do when I put in the magnet? I will post pics tonight of the electrode and the top of the piston. Thanks a 1000000

magnet isn't going to pick up aluminum.

But, if the car skipped time and it blew a spark plug apart there could be debris. But anyone with half a brain in their head would have cleaned it out when they had the head off.

The small nicks are where your valves smashed into your pistons. Those edges love to cause detonation. But something is hitting your spark plug. Pull the plug entirely and make sure its the same p# as the other plugs. Maybe a similar, but longer thread plug ended up in the wrong box somehow. Stranger things have happened. If its not that, it doesn't bode well.

I've seen heads cut on inferior equipment come out with a lean. Or slope to one side enough to cause similar problems in one cylinder and not the others. Drove us insane until we pulled it off again and went... holy sh... F!

Post pics, I wanna see.

Jon,

Not spraying yet? I hope you didn't turn the methanol system off.
There is no need to break a head in.

That looks like they reused the spark plug, or you still have a chunck of something in the combustion chamber.
