So there rotation is the same as DSM 4g63 even though there turned 180 degrees.

Same rotation as the other exact same engine silly - rotates toward exhaust valves.

Anyone know what happens when you hand crank the engine backwards? The FSM warns not to, what happens, does the tensioner extend?

They are mirror images - sterioisomers if you will

 

This couldn't be true for all engines because the Honda K-series exhaust is towards the firewall and it spins clockwise so I had to ask.

K-series and L-series are the odd-***** of the Honda engine family...all the rest of their 4 cyl. car engines pre K and L-series rotate counter clockwise.

Nothing, if you do it slow. It does increase the likelihood of it coming out of time. Rolling it back a 1/4 turn always took the slack out on a DSM 4g63 when adjusting the tensioner pulley. The world doesn't explode.

 

So both DSM and evo 4g63s have the exhaust in the front and both spin towards the front meaning they spin in opposite directions and everything is a mirror image including the tranny settup, right?
