I want to run a antilag setup on my evo 9, what do I need?
An anti-lag system is described in detail by the links provided above. There's no longer a reason to drag out this mangina bleeding thread. If you absolutely want an antilag system on your Evo, get in contact with Mynes Performance @ www.mynesperformance.com. They have an ALS incorporated on one of their shop cars.
Also, WRC cars do NOT sit there while idling and ALS activated to make boost. They sit there with their motors revving and then activate ALS. Everything JB has said so far is in fact correct. You seem to be thinking the other explanations of ALS contradict what JB has been saying when it is in fact not. All the correct information has been complementing JB's explanations to date.

Black boxes on airplanes are orange but why would they call it a black box if it wasn't so?

Their motors are reving higher than standard road going cars because they are using als what do you mean als is for constant boost. It dosent matter which form I'm talking about both are for boost to be readily available, when steping on the accelerater. Two steping is not als which john has described. Read the the thread. Before you post. Then your post will actually mean something. Your just agreeing with other people but you dont truely understand what als is about it ok when you dont know something. It' not ok when you dont know something and think you do because your agreeing with others then you just look stupid too.

so basically now you're arguing semantics with one of the respected experts on this board, and then saying he doesn't understand antilag, even after this whole thread you've demonstrated you don't even have rudimentary knowledge of forced induction...
good job
good job
I knew somebody was going to say that it was only a matter of time.

BTW, the 2 step does not create boost between shifts as you've said in a previous response.

I never said constant boost; please don't add to what I've posted. JB has consistently pointed out what 2 stepping is and I never once said that 2 step = ALS. He has described both the 2 step and ALS to you multiple times but you just seem to be mixing up the two and trying to create an argument. Like I've said in my previous post, get in contact with Mynes Performance and see exactly what hardware you need to get an ALS for your car. Your thread is titled "I want to run a(n) antilag system on my evo 9, what do I need?" Well I've already got you started on a source that's already figured out how to get a working system on the Evo; send them a PM as they're on the forums.
