Boost at idle doesn't even make sense. thats why people keep telling you, that you need load to drive a turbo. the turbo won't make power out of its efficiency range... there just isn't any air moving at idle.
What do you mean by stand still not from idle?

Idle = Your foot is not on any pedals but perhaps the dead pedal.
Stand still = Can be same as 'idle' but can also means you are holding down the brake and/or clutch while gassing in order to rev the engine while keeping the car from moving.

Anti-lag is basically spark and air fed into exhaust manifold. If no unburnt fuel is fed, it is just going to be spark going off in the manifold and nothing more. But when the fuel is fed, it is going to create an explosion and keep the turbine wheel spinning. Unburnt fuel isn't 'magically' appear in the exhaust manifold unless you gas the pedal or have missing/faulty exhaust valves.

So no, anti-lag does not engage when idle, you can't just leave the car on without anyone in the car and watch the car popping. It is pointless to set it to run when you are WOT although it can definately be done, you'll just be making sure more unburnt gas is burnt before they come out of the exhaust pipe, but it isn't going to help with building boost at all. (Theoretically yes, if the explosion in the manifold creates bigger velocity than what that of exhaust gas, but in real life, there isn't going to be much difference) Anti-lag is doing its job when you let go off the gas, and rev falls below the boost range, then ECU will 'sense' it and trigger the sparks in the manifold and feed air. I think how hard and how long it is trying to keep the boost up after a rev fall would depend on how the system + ECU is set up.

You could probably ask a shop to design a system for you where they would have extra hole in the manifold for injecting fuel then control with the system + ECU. Then set it so it'll inject fuel/air and activate spark when the rpm is around 600-1000rpm (or whatever you idle at). It will be dangerous and extremely streneous to your entire system including your engine, not to mention the cost involved with design and test.

What exactly, or why do you want boost at idle? Yes, I read the entire thread, every single post on here. You haven't clearly stated why, other than wanting to take off the line "like a V8" as to why exactly you want boost at idle. You cannot achieve boost at idle because there is no load on the turbo, plain and simple. From what I gather by reading the entire thread, this is what you are looking for:

A flame thrower out the exhaust pipe, and here is the reasons:

You said you want antilag without the noise.
You want boost at idle - can't be had without creating "noise".
You said "imagine raising the idle for boost"

Idiotic comment because if you are raising the idle, you are doing it one of two ways - either by the ECU or with your foot. Indirectly, this is 2-Step. Raise the idle by your foot (ie. gas pedal) and you get 2-step and boost. Raise the idle in the ECU, you get nothing but a higher idle.

But, you don't want it because it makes noise.

You said previously, in multiple posts that you don't want the noise. 2-Step makes loud noizes, anti-lag makes loud noizes, I make loud noizes.

I would love to see you somehow boosting at idle, and drop the clutch. You would stall out every single time. When you take off on a launch, or even just a normal start from a light, you press the gas. If you were boosting at idle, and went to go from a light, fast or slow launch, as soon as you are letting out the clutch, you are on the gas about 0.000002389478 seconds later anyways.

I don't think you really understand what it is you really want, and if it is even attainable. You come here and try and tell a respected member on here that he doesn't know what he is talkign about when all we are trying to do is figure out what in the heck it is you really even want. Right now, all I gather is that you want a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich only without the jelly. You want anti-lag without any noise. You have a 35R with only a catback exhaust in your mods list. Hope to god that's a typo. Hmmm....

Go and get your flamethrower and call it a day.

Just for the record, with this comment, why did you even start this thread?

This comment sounds like you don't even want to run it. So why are you even asking?

hm... maybe you're better off with a supercharger chrsevx? lol, by anti-lag, I want to be able to obtain no less then let's say about 8psi before my next shift. In between shifts on the car the turbo de-spools(mis-nomer, I know) or looses psi so flippn fast its fustrating. Its like having an urbo car instead of a turbo car. lol

If you think im looking to try and turn my exhaust into a flame your confused and should not be posting, really. I never said I wanted to run anti lag without noise. It can't be done. Anybody knows you would stall out leting out the clutch in gear without giving the car gas. That was a stupid statement. Maybe you dont understand what I want but I already know. Hmmm maybe you should check the mods i mentioned.

P.S. Alot of what you said in your one post was stupid.

I'm undecided it would be cool to have antilag at a rally event. And I wouldnt doubt alot of fun too.

I dont think their is even a company that produces a supercharger for the evo. But I may be wrong.

I am glad you feel that way, but in all of your posting so far, all you have shown is that you don't really know what it is you are looking for.

Your ignorance is shown completely by your name calling, and ignorance to listen.

Read the post I quoted YOU saying that you didn't want it because it's loud...

But, so far, all you have done here is disrespect quite a few people, say you don't want it because it's loud, then say you are undecided on it, and resort to calling people and their comments stupid... Nothing I said in my post is stupid, it was just plain calling out what has happened in this thread so far..

Your right I was wrong about saying I not sure if I want a shotgun sound coming from my exhaust, good one you got me. Part of what I said was due to confusion from what I read to be turbo anti lag somewhere as stated in thread if you read that post you would of known that and would not of had to waste your and my time saying im ignorant, and part of what I have said is true. Dont deny it. Why would I want a flame thrower for an exhaust is that something your into.

Yeah, I am into that stuff. Thats why my Evo has a 6" lift so I can run 24's, has 30 12" subs in it, neon's everywhere, and APC stickers all over it.
