Yeah, after work I think I am going to stop by Pepboys and drag my Evo through a couple of their isles. Maybe I will have a fast car then... (Without anti-lag.)

stand still is when the car is not moving, its standing still... hence the term stand still.

idle is when there is no load on the engine - it is running on its own, at low rpms, without load. if you put a load on it at low rpms - it will stall.

i can't believe that you keep asking the most basic questions - yet are calling others idiots. it just doesn't make sense. you'll go far in life with an attitude like that.

So lets say you were able to find an experienced automotive engineer that would take your hard earned maney and build you and electric supercharger that would bolt on in front of your turbo and produce enough volume airflow to create positive pressure in the manifold while the engine is sitting at idle... what do you think would happen to your idle rpm in the presence of all that extra flow. If the airflow being pushed in was not metered, the engine would go sickly lean and missfire till it shut off. If the airflow was metered fuel would be injected to compensate for the extra air flow and rpm's would go up. So you would no longer be at idle.

I'm sure someone may have already said this... but:

Then buy a V8. And yes, says the guy who is happy to be turbo-lag free, even if I am a little bit/lotta bit slower.

As mentioned above:

1. Get a V8 car

2. Stick a V8 in your EVO, if you want to know how its done, just ask the guy that did it in Middle East.

You need a little more than conventional technology to make 'V8 like' power and torque at low end with a 4 banger, unless of course, your 4 banger displaces 6 liters.

I've been thinking about buying a mustang but I think the handling sucks on them.

Well the reason i asked you the question, "What do you mean by stand still not from idle?". I wasnt thinking about reving,anti-lag whatever I had forgot that part. Because i forgot about the mentioned above and that means to you im an idiot like you implied that ok in your case. Thats like saying people who make mistakes are idiots so that would mean your and idiot too. Cause we all know that you make mistakes all the time time just look at your grammer, im not saying that mines perfect either.

What exactly do you want out of your car?

Are you going to rally race? drag? road race? street race? auto-x?

Most scenarios where you need 'v8 like take off speed', you don't need handling. Most road/rally/auto-x races you wouldn't launch at start due to a lot of reasons (regulations, to safety, to durability etc). Drag races you obviously don't need anything out of turning other than turning radius to move the car to the strip easier. Street race mainly consists of drag race from dig, drag race from roll, and highway chases, at least in the states.
