Dam im glad ive joined this forum. You get so many opinions as to why one person believes one thing and another the other. Or why in ones case it works and in the other why it doesnt. Keeps me thinking thats for sure as to what i really need to be looking into for my choice or turbo and parts.
well duh!ams hasnt made pistons or rods...BUT what i was saying was that you can go on there site and build a full complete set up(motor, head, cams(BR),fuel, intake manifold, turbo, intercooler, piping etc)
most other companys just offer a turbo set up
such as im speaking with david right now and i can basically build a 10sec 500+awhp car on just straigh 92 octane all from him..other thing that isnt BR is the pistons/rods etc...the cams, intercooler, intake manifold, etc etc is all BR

If you where to judge a company by it's website design then Yes, AMS and Bushur who have been in the Evo community much longer do have more complete websites but I'm sure if you went to either shop and asked them to build you a race car it would be within their abilities.. Lets just keep this on topic.. being able to pick out parts from a website is not what this topic is about.. It's all about what you get for the money you put into it. "What's the best bang for the buck". I for one have heard and seen good things about all 3 major shops mentioned in this thread.. AMS and Bushur definately have proven their kits and abilities at the track. I believe ETS has the right formula but lack actual track #'s to back up their high horsepower numbers.. I like competition between vendors, it could only be a plus for us the consumers as they all receive fair criticism and make adjustments to their products to win favor with the people that keep them in business which is us.

And it seems the Buschur is taking that one in hand. ''The best bang for your buck''. By which im not putting down any other company and their kits. Maybe if i was made of money id have a easier choice to make not having to worry about the money aspect that is. Which im really not except when you get the same in performance out of mostly every kit. Each one may differ in a certain are which i have picked up. Like spool times with a twin scroll. But then theres the reliability of a cast manifold and you dont end up sacrificing any performance. I guess its more about personal choice. I would really like to just buy a 35R kit with everything i need from any vendor and go with a Peak Boost either top mount or the Ram horn manifold. But with their kit thats all u get the turbo, manifold, waste gate and dump tube for 2700. While i can get buschurs for 3000.

Seems like just yesterday when you were trashing the Garrett BB turbos claiming you'd never run one because they were junk. Maybe your opinion on the 38 will follow suit. I'm sure you were 100% back then too.
nothing better than full race .
a gud option to make it cheap wat i did also
go for the grup buy on the full race turbo kit .
like get there manifold
turbo
down pipe
was gate
for the oil lines fabricate them ur self .
cheapest way for the best stuff trust me ...

For the people that are between buschur and ams, does the tubular manifold not make a difference or have I just been hearing things for the last 3 years?
Are you guys going off of the kit and what it includes or are you just going off the fact that you like one or the other.
AMS's kit's with the tubular manifold are beautiful to say the least. Which in my opinion is why I ran their kit to begin with.

robertinaustin, your memory is only half as good as you think. I did not bash Garret's BB turbo's. Back when the EVO first came out the Garret stuff was brand new and I said "I did not like BB turbos". It was specific to Garrett as I had never tried Garrett stuff. The only experience I had at the time with ballbearing turbos were from Turbonetics and they sucked, they lasted a very limited amount of time before they would fail. That is why I was not fast to jump on the BB wagon in 2003. Thanks for more useless comments though. Keep on going, sooner or later you'll get one! haha
My opinion on the 38 mm won't change. I think even Tom atleast somewhat agrees with me as he said he won't use them on a large turbo.
I have lots of customers who want to run 20 psi of boost on their 35r's and I have seen boost creep/control problems from the 38 mm gates countless times trying to do that. The only way I will change my mind on a 38mm gate being large enough is if they start putting 44 mm valves inside them! hahaha

To the Op,
You cannot create multiple threads on the same topic. If you need to edit a pole, then let me know, but re posting the same general subject creates a mess for both of us. I removed the other two poles with the same question. Thanks.

You are the OP (original poster), let me know how the conversation goes.
j/k.No problem. A poll is not suppose to be dynamic.
Most of the work that goes into a good pole is knowing the question.
Let this one run its course then review the result and see if you want to expand or narrow the question. Is that acceptable?
