It most definitely will! Either shoot me a PM or give us a call and we'll help choose the correct size for your application. Thanks!

Kevin,
So when are we converting your buddy with the RR VIII? I've gotta say that your TB VIII is stealing the show in that picture

Tom
I've thought about the IC....for both the cars (also have Mazda CX7).

Just placed an order for the 3" FMIC - thanks Tom.

And thanks to everyone that responded in this thread. Amazing to see the brand loyalties than many EVO shops have cultivated over the years. I think that really says something for the quality of the people who pursue making go-fast parts for our beloved EVOs. FTW!
You wont regret man...be sure to post pics when you get it on the car ..

My friend just bolted on a injen FMIC on a EVO9 MR, and the UICP looks like a rollercoaster man. It prob flows worse then the stock UICP. He still had a big battery in it, so maybe theres an option when you buy the FMIC for all the people out there running a small battery kit or stock battery.

I was just referring to the intercooler itself. I'll build the piping after making a decision on the intercooler. Just trying to see where Injen fits into play with these other big hitters!!

We can probably figure something out The CX-7 coolers are really popular. Not surprising since it's the only reasonably priced turbocharged and "tunable" SUV!

I have a question, my motor is currently being built and i'm running a GT35R. Would the ETS 3.5" be good or should i get the Buschur "race" FMIC?? I was also thinking of the AMS one too.

Nick,
In our lineup of intercoolers, the 3.5" is perfect for a 35R powered EVO. Between 650-700whp is where we suggest going to our 4" intercooler which would be more in 67mm territory. With the 3.5" cooler you still get to retain your factory crash beam, and as with all of our intercoolers, retain your undertray without any cutting or trimming. If you have any questions about either, be sure to get a hold of me and I'll be happy to answer

I have the 1st gen tube and fin Injen FMIC. At the time it was one of the only FMIC that was compatible with the undertray. It also included a very nice LICP. The 1st gen core is Australian (some people suspect PWR but Injen won't say). The 2nd gen core is a little bigger (23.75 x 11.75 x 3.375in vs 23.5 x 11.75 x 2.875in) and bar and plate. No clue who makes this core. My Injen IC flows very well but I have no comparison with any of the other FMIC out there. If I was shopping today, I would buy the ETS FMIC. Cheaper and is undertray compatible.

Ets Ftw !!!

REPRISE: ETS 3" FMIC received with only minor UPS damage. Top bracket and inlet were both bent, even though the outside of the box looked perfect.

After straightening the top bracket and painting all three brackets flat black, I headed over to iA Performance and let Stephen install it for me. Yes, I admit it, I'm lazy. The I/C inlet and outlet did not line up with the pipes as well as I would have liked, but Stephen got everything massaged into place appropriately.

The ETS FMIC is a fine piece of work. And especially for the price. I definitely got my monies worth. No before and after dyno, sorry. I doubt it made any more power at the same 21 psi.

However, after installing the new ETS 3" FMIC I did considerable data logging. I was able to turn the boost up from 21 psi to 23 psi with NO additional knock.

Thanks ETS! Thanks Tom!

Jim,
I was sorry to hear that UPS banged the box around but glad that you got everything installed A-OK The higher boost pressures without knock are definitely a nice benefit, and there should be several degrees of additional timing available to you as well Keep us posted with any updates and I'd definitely like to check out some pictures of your EVO if you had a chance to take any. Thanks again Jim!
