clutch install problem??

OK just had my exedy twin disc installed and the dealer is saying its hard to get into reverse because of this clutch brand. I havent driven the car yet. but he says you have to turn it off to put it in REVERSE. uhhh what. I know some say its tight and will loosen up. but did anyone else have this problem or will this go away. any insight will be helpful.

thanks
03 with stock parts except clutch. on the tranny that is.

clutch

most likely its need to be adjusted same as mine did when i first put it on. It has a little differegood nt spacing so just go and look for clutch adjustment in evo m and it should fix it. Good luck it took me a couple of trys to get it right.

short drive home

Well , I just got the car, 1st gear is tough to get into sitting still but does go in . sometimes it helps to double clutch. once moving it does go into all the gears pretty easy just very notchy from before. I can get it into reverse but you have to put it into 3rd or 4th then try it and its still hard but usually works or it will grind. now the clutch engagement is just off the floor very different from the stock which was at the top of the pedal, maybe a good adjustment will help. I am also hoping it will loosen up just a little with a few miles on the car. seems like it is tight but i havent had a chance to shoot thru the gears. mostly highway to get home. this weekend I will play some and do the pedal adjust.

if you can't adjust it up off the floor enough, they also make a clutch extender rod which does the same thing as adjusting the pedal will, just in case the pedal isn't enough.

if it grabs just off the floor then thats way too close. adust that mother a couple turns so it grabs up a little higher and I gaurantee you that it will slide into those gears silky smooth I have the same clutch.

when you have these clutches too close to the floor they go out a lot faster. It should start to grab about 2 inches from the floor which is perfect.

thanks I did just extend it up off the floor about 15 turns, and now its silky smooth, I can get into reverse without much trouble at all, and its almost back to stock feel. A + on this mod.
