oem piston hp capability?
how much power can the evo oem pistons/piston pins handle with a proper tune, rpm <8,500?
i know buschur & ams; among others, have made some serious power with their turbo kits & stuff.....is there a power limit for the oem pistons/piston pins before cracking/failure due to load?

im on a twin scroll 30r setup. andhave reved up to 8400rpm at the drag strip. bone stock block. 11.2 126mph. and doring the day i beet the snot out of my car.
i say it comes down to how well the car is tuned and how you take care of your car

I have also been wondering about this coz I get conflicting feedback...
Some say to make 400HP+ and high Torque on like even a Green you need Head studs and Rodbolts coz they are not strong enough...
And others say if your car is tuned properly and you have minimal det then you don't need them... unless you wana boost 30psi...

Like said before, and from many cars I know, motors will begin to weaken after 450whp and constant beating...so if you have 450whp or more I'd recommend building the motor up at least a little to have little more reliability!
I think spinning the motor over 8000k with stock block is a tad dangerous. There have been many reports of rods letting go at high RPM.
Don't get me wrong, with the ****ty EVO9 gearing I would love to spin the motor to 8k but I don't want to poke a rod through the block at 116mph.
