Need Help Immediately!

Well I drag raced my car today after getting my EVO IX Turbo and new tune yesterday! I have a 2003 EVO 8 and I was racing my buddies 2005 Evo (closed track). Well first run went good, he beat be but he jumped a little early, and I was spinning like MAD! I have around 390 awhp and hes maybe over 300! Well second run it went BAD REAL QUICK! Both our 2 step are at 6k. He gave me the jump since I was spinnong like mad, I have quite a bit more power than him. So I launch and my car soesnt jump, I hear the popping sound of the 2-step and as soon as I let off the clutch my friend who is videoing hear a loung scraping/grinding sound and my car just sits there barely rolling, but not going! And I hear "You broke it, you killed the TC!" So, we have a 4 mile drive back to the house so I can have it towed back to my house! On every turn, we hear a clunking and then it skips and doesnt want to grab, the same as if I get any boost!

So I call up Dan Buschur when we get back! We Know its something to do with the TC! So He says its the Front Diff most likely. My question is: Do you think its only the front diff to where I could get just a Hellical Front LSD like this one: http://www.teamrip.com/SPECIALS.htm, or do you think I need both a Front Diff and a transfer case rebuild, or just a rebuild?

I dont really have the money to get this fixed, but being my DD I have to! So, I have to get this fixed, and fixed well without being too expensive! So I cant afford say a Cusco or Quaife LSD...I wish I could. But I have to get this fixed and I also need to know if that Hillical will fit a 2003?

Thanks SO much!

There is going to be pretty much no way to tell what happened until you pull it apart. Your going to want to know immediately if the ring gear was damaged in your race or not. If it is then pretty much you need a new TC if the diff is the only breakage then your pretty much good to go.

Look at shep racing as they do rebuilding of the TC's or you could just get a new one and slam it in. I'm fairly certain the RS TC will drop right into your car with a helical diff.

Almost certain you just blew up your differential in the TC. Not a big deal. your TC is an open diff from the factory which is very weak. If you dont have the cash, you can look around and find and 05 diff which is a closed diff. Which is stronger than your stocker. You can even swap it out with the TC still in the car. Just wouldnt drive on it too much as the broken spider gears will dig into the TC housing. Let me know what goes on..

To save yourself money get the service manual for all the bolt torque specs, read the evomot procedure for R/R clutch to find how to remove the diff. Then find all the broken stuff

Well, Im going to pull the tc out tomorrow morning. Im hoping its only the diff, if it is im going with the Ralliart/RS LSD. But while I have it out I am planning to just go ahead and have either Buschur or Shep do the upgrade with the bigger bolts and heavier spider gears. I want to Drag my car alot, so since I already have an Exedy HD Twin Plate and Stage 1 Buschur Tranny, I figure I might as well upgrade the TC to Prevent problems there! I dont want to have to do this multiple times! And also I hae access to all the Mitchell Manuals through school so Im not worried about that stuff.
