In SoCal most Evo owners use 76 gas. Reportedly, the octane rating is slightly better than 91, but I have no proff to back this up.

Not to change this thread, but I also vote for CA to leave the rest of the Union. This way we do not have to subsidize the rest of the states to the tune of $50 billion per year. For every 1$ that CA sends to the Federal Govt we get 0.70 cents. What a joke!!! With the 4th largest economy in the world, CA will manage fine on its own.

At least we agree on one thing. I've had enough as well.
I'm sorry you lack the intellect to follow a very simple argument, hence my comments. The "hold my own in a debate" comment is laughable. You've posted nothing to disprove the hypothesis that some gas is indeed crap. There's plenty out there to confirm this and yet, here you are with your head in the sand denying the obvious, again the reason for my comment. But I'm the one that can't hold my own. You might need to reread that Critical Thinking 101 text. Simply denying an argument does nothing to disprove it and again only reflects on your lack of intelligence.

If you really wanted to debate something, actually post something that supports what you're arguing or refutes the counter, again basic skills from Critical Thinking 101. Funny that you can use the big words but can't actually post a logical retort to anything only serving to prove my point, your earned the attack.

Cheers

EDIT - Anyone that doubts what David is posting about some gas being crap, call the dyno owners around you and get their opinion. They test gas quality on their dynos regularly. The three around me all agree with David 100%.

Va lero gas sucks because all of the refined coca plant extract precursers get leached away in the fuel during trafficking.

It sure is fun pushing buttons for an expected reaction though

In Vegas, we pretty much only use Shell. Im running the knock light in my car, and get 0 knock on Shell with my current tune. Every time I put in rebel or chevron (which I used to use exclusively) I get knock constantly. Shell is a bit more expensive, but worth it to avoid the knock. Rebel 100 octane is great, but pricey.

Dave, I back you up 100%. For those that really watch their octane because of tuning, we know theres some gas you just DO NOT put in your car. Just because it says 91 on the pump, doesnt mean thats what your getting. I didnt know they dont test in Nevada either, something I learned in this thread. Good to know.

I already mentioned this. IIRC someone had back to back dynos of CA 76 against Shell.

93 from shell before tune on dynodynamics dyno.....safely ran 24psi with 0 knock. I use it pretty much all the time now.
