My buddy has the AMS. I tried the BR and ended up sticking with the WORKS.

The AMS was an easier install IMHO with the 4 piece design. The BR required a lot lube to get it in place. Taking the stockers out was a PITA too.

They all feel more or less the same. Brass is probably the heaviest of them all. However, we are only talking about a few ounces.

I chose WORKS because I didnt like the idea of metal on metal. Metal on hard polyurethane sounds better. Plus, you won't need to lube it on a regular basis.

Any of the brands will be an upgrade to the soft OEM rubber. Don't forget the shifter base bushings. I also got the WORKS ones. However, I would get the Beatrush ones since they come with the metal inserts. The WORKS require using OEM inserts which was a nightmare to install.

So what all is there?

Shifter Base bushings
Underhood Shifter Bushings
Shifter Cable Bushings

Will these cause any added vibrations or anything? Are they all equally important?

If you go with the AMS bushings... do you have to make sure they are lubed regularly or once you install them are you good to go and no maintenance required? I heard some say yes and no. On the other hand, I've heard Works bushings dont need any maintenance or lubing since they aren't metal. Also, I've been looking at AMS and they have the Under Hood, Base Bushings, and a 5 Speed Gate Selector Bushing Kit... is the gate selector bushing kit a good add on?

I'm pretty sure the base bushings are the same as the five speed. Either way I got a set of base bushings from ams.

Underhood and shifter cable bushings are one and the same. I'd say the underhood bushings make more of a difference than the base bushings, but they're all a great mod and worth the small cost.

Speed-Source makes my favorite bushings since they're cheaper than AMS/Buschur and their underhood bushings are made from self-lubricating brass. Myself and a friend of mine each recently switched over from the Buschur underhood bushings and couldn't be happier. We were lubricating the Buschur aluminum bushings twice annually and it still didn't seem to be enough to keep them moving freely.

What do you mean by "self lubricating"? Thanks.
