Look through this forum, and don't waste your time/money with access port.

Your best bet is a custom dyno tune from one of the many wonderful tuners we have on this board who are also in the vendors section. Also some tuners offer a mail in flash which you can load into your ecu after you send them your original one. For that though you will need a tactrix cable.
First check out tunertools.com here you can buy a tactrix cable to that plugs into your OBD-II port in the car. Then from there go to open ecu and there you can down load ECU flash. With that program and cable you'll be able to pull your current ROM on your ECU.
This will enable you to either send it out and have it e-flashed via email or if you spend the money on a wide band and get a logger which uses the tactrix cable also you can log your car doing WOT pulls in 3rd or 4th. From there if you read up on tuning in ECU Flash area you'll be able to adjust any area of the stock ecu with ECU Flash and write it back to your ecu and you flashed your car.
Hope this may help a little. Its better than spending 700 on the COBB when you can get all the help you need here and really the only thing you need to buy is the 85$ cable. Good investment if you decide to go with the universal for Subies also and you can help your friends out too.

It's all in what you want. I got the AP recently because I like that it's a small package and I will be able to do my own tuning or get it tuned by a shop very shortly. There's pro's and con's to both routes. With the AP you have a company that is dedicated to supporting the product and releasing maps/troubleshooting. Using ECUFlash you have the community to help you out there. All in what you want.

lolNo but on the realz the only way the cobb access port would be worth the money is if they some how are able to incorporate an option to switch to speed density on stock ecu, other than that it really has no advantage over ecuflash and that advantage will be out the window pretty soon.
You can dl maps but they really wont be any good for anyones car but the one they came from. They may be alright but there still going to need to be re-tuned to your car. Open Ecu and Aktive Matrix are both free you just need to register.
