Clutch issue again?

I have noticed a LOT of posts regarding the clutch issues. I just purchased my Evo last Thursday and have put 650 miles on it to get it out of the break-in period (and I have babied it since day 1). I have noticed just recently a rattle noise coming from the engine area. I'm starting to get a little paranoid after reading all the clutch failure problems.

Here are my symptoms:

When letting off the throttle at any speed, there is a somewhat loud rattle sound. The same sound is also there at idle, but not quite as loud.

The sound goes away when I either accelerate or press in the clutch. I thought it might be the exhaust pipe hitting the an exhaust sheld at first, BUT that problem woudln't be solved by pressing in the clutch. I'm about to call the dealer on this one. I have not driven the car hard at all, and have only gotten on the boost a couple times today.

I have had several manual transmission cars, and my last one was a 3000GT non turbo. I NEVER heard any sounds from the clutch area, except for some chatter every now and then.

What exactly is this "decelleration" noise sound like that everyone talks about?

Any thoughts guys?

it's the sound your describing. from what everyone is saying, it's normal. i have 3,600 hundred miles now and it's exactly the same as it was on the first day. kinda sucks, but you have to get used to it.
i solved the problem by putting a buschur exaust on the car. i think that if a bomb went off next to me, i still wouldn't hear it because the exaust is so loud

heh... try a competition clutch. My Exedy is much louder than the stock one, transmitting a lot of noise when decelerating in gear. Worth it to me though...

This is the famous deceleration buzz, welcome to the club. The cure is to turn the radio past 24 or so.

First Off, Can you drive manual. Second, if you have any mods make sure everything is tightened, but not too hard, Third, If you have a gay strut bar check to see if its banging up against the intake manifold.

WTF are you talking about? I'm sure he can drive a manual, doubt he has mods since he bought it 7 days ago and what's 'gay' about the Evo's strut bar?
