The 60' MPH reached is earlier and most of the time faster so the average MPH is higher. More MPH = less time. But 1 tenth = 2 tenths? It can but ...

That's seems to be the old drag racing believe. And I think it's still true some what. Just look at your time slip, the major differences are within the first 1/8 mile.

Looking at some of my time slips, if i gain a tenth on the sixty its almost 2 tenths at the quarter

Yes, I agree, 1 tenth will give you a solid 2 or more in the 1/4, usually.

also when you get into a higher Hp cars and faster cars the 330' becomes very important as well.. thats where your 1-2 shift comes into play..

Something interesting about this thread..................

The 9.6578 we ran last Sunday was with a 1.55 sixty foot time. The pass after that the sixty foot time was a 1.66 but the car still ran a 9.6600. Difference in shifting and shift RPM. I'd have loved to put those two runs together.....next time, right Trent?

You can really see this on the AT car like my old Typhoon and GN. The MT car is really hard to see, since it's impossible to duplicate each run.
