you said that you blew into the vacuum line going to the BOV.... but did you take the BOV off and inspect the valve? i didn't read that you did anywhere.

also, did you take a second to listen to hear if the turbo is spooling just not making boost? or is it not spooling at all?

no, i haven't taken it completely off, but I will when I get in the garage...

Yeah its spooling, but taking awhile to actually hear it... well to me anyways.. my exhaust is kind of loud so its hard to tell..

I would think I really don't hear it till late in the rpms........

2 things I´d try before going to the trouble of removing the hotside:

1) run a line from your boost reference source(compressor hsg. oulet
nipple) directly to the port on the top of the WGA. Check the boost
and if it is 10-12 PSI, then increase preload by shortening the adjustable
actuator rod. Leaving it at between 17-18 PSI.

2) Wire the wastegate puck shut with bailing wire. See if it´ll spool this way.
If it won´t spool wired shut then it´s either a turbo problem, or a boost
leak. lf it was a a preturbo exhaust leak, then you´d have serious knock
issues.

Tonight, I got a few things done.. First I completely took off the bov and it was in good condition, it was sealing good and had lots of pressure in order to unseal it. It actually looked brand new. ,, I could not blow into the vac side either.

Then I took off the OEM WGA arm, it was preloaded.. I even tried to preload it more, but the screw to the oem arm was down all the way so I locked the nut back on it..

I did noticed that the arm on the flapper, was very loose to move, almost like the arm was not connected to the flapper (mine is a dual flapper)....

So, I don't know if it is suppose to be this easy to move, but it almost felt like there was no flapper...

WIth that said, I am going to pull off the manifold, downpipe, and get this hotside off. I am praying that it is an easy fix and that nothing is damaged.

Dual flapper is 9.8, and 10.5 is single i believe "but the 05 10.5 might still be dual flapper though" But the Evo9 10.5 turbo i have has a single flapper. but you didnt notice that the flappers where not on it when you installed the o2 housing? or was the o2 housing already on it?

IF you sent your stock Evo IX turbo to be change into a FP they didnt send you yours back.

I cant see the pics, but the hotside will be stamped with either 10.5 or 9.8 depending on which hotside it is.

FP said there is no difference in dual flapper and single flapper performance wise...

I was suppose to get the 10.5 is why I'm asking...

dual flapper is avail in 10.5 as well.

Also, when you put it back together, I would recommend using the nice thick Mitsu 02 housing gasket and not the crap gasket you have been using. I can tell by the markings it has made on the hotside.

I Though that the 05 might have still been a dual flapper, and yeah its a bare min difference between the 2. but what did they say about the flapper being gone ....

Maybe it was loose and got sucked into your exhaust lol hear any rattling? got your CAT still?

No cat,, I a pretty sure I shot it out my exhaust and pegged a car behind me lol

Anways, just got off the phone..

They are sending out a new one tomorrow...... GO FP!!!! great Customer Service..

Yes, I used the gasket that came with the MR housing...

They did say I had the 10.5 housing, at least that was on the receipt, it is not stamped on the hotside......

Well I guess we know why now I was building boost.. lol,, It was pretty quick in the top end. I can't wait to feel what 20psi by 3300 feels like
