Trans case I think

Hey guys driving the evo hard last night. Raced a built talon from a dig. (yes i got him by like 5 cars but that not importain right now ) Anywayz raced up till about 125 again this was from a dig. At the end of the run when I let off I heard some a lil whine and sounded like something was clunking. So I droped it into nuetral and pulled over. Poped hood and checked under the hood and the car. Couldn't find anything weird. Got back in and tried to drive it and it wouldn't go into any gear at all. The only way I could get it to drive was to turn the car off and put it in gear then start it with the clutch pushed in and leaving it in gear. Still drove like crap and had some noise. Got it towed to my house. Still wont go into gear with the car on.

Mods are tbe, mbc (28psi on 100), hks intake, ams fmic with licp, walboro 255, 272 cams, exedy twin disk clutch.

Clutch is pretty new so i doubt its that. Any thought or suggestions guys. Again I think its the transfer case but just wanted to no a few other opions based on what u heard. thanx

winding noise sounds like the transfer case, but the not putting car into gear with it started sounds like the clutch. if your transfer case went out i wouldnt think it would have that affect on it. how many miles on your clutch?

sounds like the clutch or throwout bearing. When you say you could get it into gear with the car off, and then start the car and drive off, how easily did it go into the other gears? Did it seem like you had to rev match to get it into gear while moving?

It wouldnt go into the other gears. I only drove it half a block and got it towed home. The more I think about it I think it might be clutch or throw out bearing. Clutch only has like 4K on it. And its the twin so i doubt i blew it but something could have went wrong in thier. Guess we are just gonna have to take it apart and find out.

I know they suck. Hope its just the throw out bearing but that might be wishful thinking.

do you have a 5spd or a 6spd?

coud be the gear selectors...its one of the weak links in the gear box..
my car wouldnt go into gears unless it was turned off when the selectors broke..
good luck
