DB, You're right, I had your number, I called your number, I put my name on the parts! DONE! Now, all I need to do is find out how much it just cost me. Now that's what you call confidence in the product. Thanks for the great deal!???!??? I think.

So here's what I was up to today. After fitting up the other header and finishing it I just wanted more. This one is kick *** too. The overall design is much better. I moved the turbo up higher, over towards the passenger side more. This is for the standard T3 flange. This header could very well make it's way into production given the testing comes out positive. The positive sides of this one is the downpipe is a straight shot out of the turbine housing to the rear, so a 90 degree bend out of the turbine housing and then just angled back, less bends than anything else I've built for the downpipe. It also located the compressor housing so I can exit the compressor and go directly into the FMIC with a very short 90. I will have to build a new race FMIC for the car with an inlet on the engine side to do this (like our deluxe FMIC). The lower i/c pipe will literally be about 2" long. The air inlet is a perfectly straight shot, 4" all the way in.

The header yesterday has more bends in the downpipe and lower i/c pipe.

I hope the Tial housing works as it's light as hell but I sure like this header design better. Guess, I can always build another one with the Tial flange on it..........

Both headers are at the machine shop for milling. Hopefully we'll get a head gasket on the car Wednesday when Daniel comes back. He doesn't even know it's in the service bays right now! haha

Happy New Year everyone!

9sec9, how's FREE sound? I never dyno'd it but if you're willing to put it on and run it I'll send it to you. Just so you know, I had two phone calls about buying it today after my post.

I'll get the header, downpipe and oil line stuff out to you when we come back next week.

A friend of ours stopped by as I was building this. Looking at the pictures made me think of it. Asked me what kind of fixture I used to figure it all out. He was amazed that the first two runners were nearly identical how they lay. I told him I do it all by eye. He told me no way in hell. So I started on the 3rd runner and he stayed for about an hour BS'ing with me and watching. I finished it and he said, "Well, I guess it is all by eye, it's freaking amazing." Cool when guys you know but aren't kissing your *** say things like that.

I wish I could have gotten a final picture up with it done on the car, I let Jarrod and Nick take off and I have no idea how to do the picture hosting and such.

Anyway. Off for 4 days.......

You guys are right, sometimes it fun to be me. This week was extremely enjoyable. I love to design and fabricate things, probably my favorite thing and I don't do it much anymore. I do all the tuning and build every single engine but actual fab work I don't do much anymore. The shop was pretty empty this week with most everyone out on vacation so it was quiet and uncrowded. Best week I've had in a long time messing with something new and for my own car. Very enjoyable.

My welding is a little rusty, although still not too bad. I finished than entire header from mocking up the turbo to fitting and welding it all in about 7 hours by myself today.

Spoke with Daniel and he said throwing on a fresh headgasket on Wednesday will only take a few hours at most. Should have it running and back on the dyno with the Tial housing Wednesday then.

Then I'll wait for the new 1.06 T3 housing I have coming to test the other header.

My old stuff is on its way to a big build at the shop for my boy Eric

Oh, something else..........my car is obnoxiously LOUD LOUD LOUD. It has a very very raspy sound to it. Unlike any other EVO. We have no idea why. I've tried 3 different mufflers on the car and last week with the 3.5" it was even worse and that had a Burns muffler on it. It is actually annoying. What I am hoping is it has something to do with the runner configuration on the FR header. My car is the only one we've dyno with that header and it is the only car that makes this completely obnoxious raspy noise.

That's all.

the mani looks great as usual.. the main thing i always look for is how serviceable is the manifold.. Most the ram horn style are such a PITA to get the nuts off.. With that design thats a very easy drop of the manifold to service everything such as as a headgasket.. nice work and i can already predict the line forming for these manifolds..
