I always got to give props to ingenuity... My buddy at hesspower.com has the same concept of the straight to the point design for the turbo. Cant wait to see the out come on the dyno...

What I am hoping is it has something to do with the runner configuration on the FR header. My car is the only one we've dyno with that header and it is the only car that makes this completely obnoxious raspy noise.

That's all.
Sounds like my car. Very loud, very raspy. Over the next two weeks I am having AMS change my exhaust. I'm going to a resonated test pipe with two in-line resonators/bullet mufflers. Hopefully this will work to eliminate the rasp and at least some of the noise.

Sweet work on the headers ...

Hey Dave how many miles were on the motor before the headgasket failure?

Were the internals touched at all for those miles?

The head has never been off the engine and the engine has not been touched at all. The engine shouldn't need touched now, be interesting to see what the cylinder walls look like when the head comes off. I am guessing flawless.

I don't know how many miles have been put on the car. Miles don't do crap to a car, the hundreds of dyno pulls and tons of 9 second passes are what is impressive.

David, really great work!

anby reason you haven't gone for a twin scroll layout on the manifold??? it looks like it would be easier thanks to the smoother route the pipes take.

just a thought.

Chris.

From what I had heard the twin scroll housing was nearly impossible to get in any type of quantity. I want to be able to sell the turbo I run to anyone who wants it. That's the only reason I haven't tried it.

I see someone just got one here on EVOm, I'd like to try the housing but the a/r would have to be atleast a .82 for me to be interested.

I'll look into it maybe.
