big problems

today when i left work my car was actin funny. when i was slowin down the rpms were hoppin between 1 and 1.5k and would stop when i came to a complete stop. the turbo was working the whole time i drove even at cruising i could hear it tryin to make boost. when i got home i popped the hood and the hotside was glowing red. i mean literally glowing. when i accelerate it would build boost to around 8psi and then it would go crazy and drop to 5 and raise to 12/13 and the bov was going off like crazy. anybody know whats up?? please help i need answers pronto

It sounds like you have a air flow problem, but you will need to do a bit more digging to find out what the exact problem is. If I were you, I'd stop driving the car, let everything cool down, and start poking my head around. If you have access to a boost leak tester, you'll save yourself much un-needed headache.

i dont know where it would be coming from. the car ran perfectly fine this morning and now this afternoon it wants to act up. it seems like that would be an electrical problem somewhere to me idk. the intake and ic pipes are all in place and secure. i dont understand why the turbo is gettin so hot.

Your mod list in your signature is definetely the problem You asked me to comment!!

Does the car have a cat on it? If so check to see if it broke apart inside. If not take the inlet off to the turbo and try to spin it.

In your other thread, you mentioned installing a forge WGA, did you just do that? Might wanna see if it's operating correctly.

Make sure your MAS is plugged in.

I had the similar problem a cople of weeks ago, it ended up being my turbo. The shaft would not only wiggle up and down, left and right but also in and out. When it was taken out, the fins on the hotside has embedded groves on to the hotside housing.

^ this: hks ssqv

and what do you mean your turbo is bad? if the turbo is not spinning and your idling at 1500 rpm that might be why your hotside is glowing red... its like plugging your exhaust...

what does the ssqv have to do with it. the turbine wheel was grinding into the hotside of the turbo and it had mad shaftplay. its definately time for the green now.

20Grockit, glad to hear my prediction was correct, sorry to hear you have to buy a turbo.

Now to answer your question about your combination.

HKS SSQV, not my favorite and if it isn't recirculating then horrible for your MAF car
AEM Cam gears, waste of your money
Profec B waste of your money
HKS TT, obviously a waste of your money
ACT clutch is the biggest POS clutch made for the EVO/DSM
ACT flywheel, useless too
8.5 mm wires, if Magnacore throw them in the garbage
AMS fuel rail, waste of money at your power level
MSD FP Voltage booster, waste of money
Unorthodox pulley, MY GOD son throw that in the garbage

There's my OPINION.

No offense to the OP but... David has some great commentary on your parts I got a kick out of this. SOrry to hear your turbo is toasted go for the green and ditch all the other crap on your car. Almost every part on your car seems to have a million threads about how bad they are for the Evo or completely pointless for one reason or another.
