If you're going to pop the head off and send it out, I'd do the following as an idea:

272 cams (or higher)
adjustable cam pulleys
Upgraded springs
Titanium Retainers
Oversize valves

Headwork can make your car suck lots of air (and lots of money). Big names aren't always the best; take a look around.

Wow Alfried, those are some nice numbers you have there. What kind of mods did you put in your car to run those kind of times?

Also, will I be able to run these big HP #'s with only pump gas (92 octane)

Do a search under my name for the mods - - I dont think you can go that fast on 92 but you can come close

AMS just posted and upgrad kit for our evo.

Starting around 4k for the kit and 450 - 600+ hp.

I beleive this might be a good way to go for more power.

I still have the same as you for now. I may just keep it. It's not like I found one significantly better; just better end tanks. It obviously makes power as is. BTW, I just spent less than $400 (retail including 2-day shipping) to give my EVO an 8500 rpm redline. I will be installing them with the cams this weekend. There's your next thing, Al. Springs and retainers.

Where did you get the ecu re-flash done - I am also having that done as we speak - Works - and I was wondering if you were able to have the fuel cut removed or charged at the same time ?

Nope, I haven't fixed the electronic limiter yet. I spoke to them a little about what they were doing, though. That limiter will be eliminated/adjusted when I put the AEM in.
Running big duration cams can exceed the stock springs. I don't really think that may be on the EVO, but I want to rev higher anyways and don't want to risk it. For about $650 you can rev up past 10k by using Ferrea dual spring stuff.

what did greddy do to the turbo? what rpm does it have full spool?

how much boost are you planning on running with it?

what injectors are you gonna run, and are you upgrading your fuel pump (i've heard the stock one is a 210lph)?

is a 20g really worth it over the stock evo8 turbo?.. i mean, AMS already has 380whp out of theirs.. and that's with stock internals.. with a 20g u might be able to squeeze 400whp, right?

i think i definitely will have to go with something bigger than that.. i want at least 430whp..

still, i'm very interested in seeing your results!.. will you be dyno tuning your car anywhere in the local area? .. at AMS perhaps? i'd like to check it out!

to answer your questions:
stock injectors, stock internals
I know ams and al friedman have around 400 hp but I dont feel like messing with higher boost and having problems down the road. Also i hate how my stock turbo looses power at higher speed.
If you feel like 400hp is not enought definatelly go with 25g or 3037s. I could have gone with 25g, but I dont feel like spending a fortune on internals, injectors and an ecu.

I don't think they will. I was referring to just the head.
I can't say where the stock bottom end can rev reliably. I am sure it will do 10k at least once. J/K
I'd only be interested in reving to 9k anyways. That should be enough to have powerband on the 3037S. There are other things that need addressed before making optimum power up above that.
