Possible slipping clutch?

Started to have a problem with my car a few days ago. When ever i get on it from a roll it will jump a few hundred rpms and then catch. I lauched it twice with out any problems so i dont think its the clutch. My car doesnt make enough power to just slip the clutch by getting on it. I think its blowing out spark but just not sure. I have new plugs on the way, just trying to get a feel for what the problem may be.

Definitely the clutch. Don't bother with the plugs. If your RPM changes without a corresponding change in speed, either the clutch or the tires are slipping.

Edit: Or you just blew up your transmission, but that has other fairly obvious symptoms.

I'm gonna have to agree. It's the clutch. I experianced this also when my last clutch started going. I too tried to convince myself it was spark blow-out, but it's not. One of the wisest things ever said on Evom is "If you drive an Evo and have to ask is it my clutch then its gonna be your clutch." Sorry bro.

Beware: An EVO clutch degrades rapidly one it shows signs of slippage. This is because there are stop built on the pressure plate which bottom out causing the slippage. You will go from the disc geting about 1900lbs of clamp load from the pressure plate (just before it hits the stops) to none at all in very little time since the clamping is being done on the stops rather than the clutch disc.

i have to agree with all and say the clutch. if theres changes in rpms w/o a change in speed or anything then its the clutch slipping. use the usual method and do a pull in 4th or 5th gear from around 2k and floor it. if the rpms go up but the car doesnt really go anywhere then its your clutch
