Forge Dump Valve cause Engine Check Light
I installed a forge dump valve (the recirculating blow off valve) and now I'm getting a check engine light.
I have tried installing it just like the factory with the nipple facing left / reset the ECU / and then after 10 mins the check engine light comes one. Engine idles high around 1500rmp.
So I reset the ECU and reinstall it with the nipple facing up / reset the ECU / and after 5 mins check engine light comes on again. This time the idle is worse as it goes up and down between 1800 to 1200.
Then I put the orginal factory BOV back on and reset the ECU and I'm back to normal.
All using factory intake. The forge DV also makes that funny laser / fluttering sound (the one everyone comments about) on both direction of install.
Anyone else have this problem and have you resolved it??
I talked to forge and they are sending me another DV, hopefully it works.

The spring may have to much tension on it causing the valve not to open all the way? You may want to check that because if you are installing it (which is way easy) right then this is more than likely the culprit.

This is strange cause if you get a light at idle and the idle is high you probably have a vacuum leak. I am wondering if your o-rings are leaking. Try pushing the vallve in with your hand and the put a finger over the vacuum barb to see if it holds vacuum. The forge valve is open at idle so really only the vacuum hose matters if both sides of the valve are plumbed like stock.
If I hold the Dump Valve with the nipple facing upwards and blow into the side port, the air just blows right out to the vaccum hole (the nipple). the bottom side hole is blocked and when i push it in and blow through the side port the air goes to that hole and not to the top hole.

There are only three pieces to the entire thing. The body, the valve and the 2 o-rings.
